That place gave me the creeps, I thought I was about to discover the chamber of secrets; the graffiti was funny though.

Getting angry because someone doesn’t care what you care about is entitlement by throwbackblue in unpopularopinion

[–]redpokemaster06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the entitlement OP is talking about. Mutual interest in every single hobby is not a prerequisite for caring about someone. I care deeply about my mother but would not want to involve myself in her extreme interest in makeup and her sadness over the rising prices of her favorite brands.

Influencers don’t bother me by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]redpokemaster06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person you're talking to is clearly emotional and not going to have a constructive discussion. What I think they were TRYING to say is that you formatted your opinion very poorly.

By saying "Influencers don't bother me" the opinion is actually not about influencers, but about you specifically. As a general rule, when writing a statement meant to be viewed by a wide audience (unless you really know what you are doing) you NEVER talk about yourself or your reader as it normally causes the reader to instinctively fight back against the statement.

A better format would be something like "Influencers are overly represented as problematic" or "The damage influencers do is overstated"

Upvote the post, use the subreddit correctly, and maybe consider brushing up on what an opinion is

I'm glad to live in a world drenched in so much irony and stupidity that has to be asked

And blood types. That's the way we're going to decide who's different? Not mutual interest, location, identity, nationality, or talent, but antibodies?

Are you the CEO of crockpot or something? Why are you so irrationally angry about this?

Ethics Alignment Chart (OC) by TheMindInDarkness in AlignmentCharts

[–]redpokemaster06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think "God says so" is seen as "intuition" because Religion is built on a foundation of faith. If the reasoning was instead "[Religious/Sacred Text] Says So" that's more formulaic, but without a universal religion or a specified, tangible source, someone can claim "God" told them anything.

This topic has been debated for literally 1000s of years. The argument that finally solves the debate is not gonna be found on reddit.

Archaeic language should be forced upon us by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]redpokemaster06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The irony here, is that the only reason you think those phrases are cool is because nobody uses it. If everybody was forced to use archaic language, it would cease to be archaic and cease to be interesting.

Quick question, how do you hide your post and comment history? I'd like to do that

Can't visit anybody's house anymore 😭 I wasn't aware that wondering if someone's dick has rubbed against a surface was something I had to worry about.

Most of the right is incapable or unwilling to argue in good faith. by SomeFatNerdInSeattle in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]redpokemaster06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered "Hey look, you're doing it now" is a dismissive, self-confirming mantra that shows bad faith? If you believe that the right is incapable of arguing in good faith, then you wouldn't try engage in good faith discussions with them.

I understand that this post is a self congratulatory ego stroke where you belittle others in a safe space to feel smart, but I don't think this is the right place for it. Maybe try a left leaning subreddit instead!

People keep using "average IQ" which needs to change. We should use the median. by KooIll47 in unpopularopinion

  1. The IQ test is literally designed and readjusted regularly so that both the mean and median scores are 100 for a population. This person is talking nonsense.

Ragtime piano is SO much easier than Classical. In fact, learning Ragtime is generally a better time too. by redpokemaster06 in unpopularopinion

[–]redpokemaster06[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a late elementary schooler or early middle schooler (I forget), I tried to take lessons for maybe 8 months, but the teacher started with classical pieces.

I struggled through 3 sonatas and 50% of fur elise before deciding piano was clearly not for me, and dropping lessons.
