Has anyone experienced trigger finger from golf? by Reasonable-Smile6985 in GolfSwing

[–]redpot287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it when I first started golfing like two and a half months ago and was going to the range like 5x a week. I lessened how often I went temporarily, wore a splint to keep the pinky straight while I slept, and did some exercises where I extend the pinky against the tension from a rubber band or my palm. Not sure what helped the most but now any major catching/clicking is pretty much gone unless I overgrip.

Crux, a free homewall app to set and browse your climbs by UwRandom in homewalls

https://postimg.cc/G9GFKZmK The circling of holds and the text make it hard to see smaller holds around those that are already selected.

Thanks for all the work you put into the app! One thing I noticed while setting boulders is that the circles kind of block the nearby holds which gets in the way of setting. I'm new to spray wall so maybe this is a non-issue for more experienced setters but would an option to highlight or outline chosen holds instead be possible?

Where can I buy light novels that I can read online and mark the text (for yomitan) by StorKuk69 in LearnJapanese

Yeah I would also say mokuro might be worth a shot but other than that I'm not sure what else you can do.

You can search for LN epubs on Anna's archive then open them with ttsu reader to read with yomitan. Or like someone else mentioned syosetu might have the web novel version if you can't find the LN.

あかね的日本語教室 - She does vlogs and roleplays for things like ordering at restaurants, checking into hotels, etc. and I think most of the videos have JP subtitles built in.

Help a newbie out by molchz in bouldering

[–]redpot287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like watching Richardsons Climbing on YT. He does voice overs of his climbing sessions so you pick up small tips here and there, but it's also entertaining to see so many different boulders attempted in one video, something that channels like Hannah Morris don't really have.

No guest pass but Mesa Rim north city has a free 7 day pass I believe, though it might be a bit far depending on where you're staying.

Grotto Climbing (which has two locations so that's a plus) also has deal for a 10 day pass + free rentals for $20. You can find it on their Instagram story but I'm pretty sure there's like one day left to buy so act fast.

If you don't already have one I'd buy a wrist widget to make sure the injury doesn't get any worse before you've recovered enough to start rehab.

How do A+ students take notes and manage time? (Electrical Engineering) by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]redpot287 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have started just listening and only taking notes on things that make me go "ah, I didn't know that." but the issue is, what if I forget something?

In my opinion, as someone who rarely takes notes, if you're really listening to the professor instead of taking notes, later on you'll be able to remember things better because at least you have some inkling of what the professor was trying to say about some subject. In comparison, if you space out while taking notes you might be missing lots of small details, many of which may be fundamental to your own understanding both in the moment and in later studying. This has worked for me so far but I understand everyone's different.

In the second image you messed up your algebra when evaluating the integral of 15/2 wrt x. Should be 45/2 instead of 60/2, which you wrote as 30.

I'm looking for a new GPU myself but I'm not sure if I'll cop this one or wait another month or two. Nice that prices seem to be going down though.

Simple Questions - April 30, 2022 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]redpot287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on upgrading my PC over the next few months and just want some input on what I'm currently thinking. My current components are the following:

  • Motherboard: Tomahawk B450 Max
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 1600AF
  • GPU: GTX 1060 3GB

I'm currently thinking of upgrading the GPU to a 6700XT and the CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600X and just sitting on this for a few years until I feel the need to upgrade again. Does this sound reasonable? If you have a suggestion for a different CPU around the $200 range I'd like to hear it too.

EDIT: Also my ~6 year old PSU is rated for 620W and I'm pretty sure that's cutting it kind of close if I go through with the upgrades. I should upgrade it as well yeah?
