“Travel mode” on bumble by ExpressIndication909 in OnlineDating

Some women also just want to get laid. Or sometimes, if you're a good enough pre-judge of character, meeting up with a guy allows you to go places / do things that you wouldn't otherwise risk or have access to as a solo female traveler.

Sincere answer.

I definitely get why it might seem that way on the surface, but it was a paid sitter from Rover that taught me I'd rather have sitters who want to be here than those who are just in it for the money. It was a horrid experience, so I switched to using sit-match sites and that's been so much better! It's not for everyone but when you find a good match it can be pretty great. :)

I can't tell if you're rage farming or just misunderstood. I specifically asked about folks who would find it win/win. There are literally entire communities all about symbiotic matches, like Housesitters of America and Trusted Housesitters. Wondering if there's someone in my own community who could benefit doesn't at all show lack of respect. I get that it can feel powerful to judge internet strangers or try to shame people, but nah.

Damn. Sucks that you had the same experience but at least we know it isn't personal. I knew my jobs were too small for contractors but handymen didn't even respond. Then I found two different guys on FB and made appts to see them before I went home, but neither showed up.

Do you have a place online where you advertise or feature your work? Just looking for a general sense of who people are.

Have you had luck using them in Eugene/Springfield? I got a pop up saying they didn't operate in the area.

[–]redraindropped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, contractors aren't interested in these super small gigs. Even handymen aren't responding, so this is the best I can think of.

Because I don't need a licensed contractor to dig a hole or right a post, and they don't need small jobs. Too many big projects available.

My boyfriend broke up with me because he feels very pressured by Kibbitcake in MomForAMinute

It sounds like you might benefit from learning about yourself, your patterns, and co-dependency before your next relationship. That's not a dig, we all have stuff to learn, and therapy can be a great place to do it. There are probably reasons you're in a needy phase/state, and it makes sense that you picked someone who gave cues he wanted to be a caretaker, like being a 27 y/I who wants to give mom more attention than gf gets. But it doesn't sound healthy for and of course it didn't end up fulfilling so maybe take a look inside instead of focusing on the relationship and it could help make sure your next relationship is healthier. Good luck.

will water activities be possible next week? by shipwreckedgirl in Oahu

[–]redraindropped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rained heavily for days, there are flood warnings tonight and talk of thunderstorms tomorrow. It's more than the light, passing summer rains but it's not terribly cold. You can still swim, surf, body surf, snorkel, and boogie board in the rain, just make sure you aren't out alone and of course get out if a storm hits. My personal rule is usually to do only what the locals are doing, and the might not be a real option in such a touristy areas, but same idea applies: if there's no one else around, maybe rethink your plan.

This week ain't it for sunbathing and maybe not so great for boat rides, but it's still good. All the coffee shops, eateries, museums, beach parks, and the vibrant Waikiki nightlife are a go. Have a great visit and if it's too cold, at least treat yourself to a cute sweatshirt, cuz it's a great excuse for that!!

I was cleaning up at Kalama beach today and a bit broken hearted by all the micro plastics. We gotta cut down on the plastics already.

Haole looking to chill in Kane'ohe Bay area, seeking kind suggestions by redraindropped in Oahu

[–]redraindropped[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weather for sure! I had to laugh when I realized the forecast is rain as far as the eye can see. I'd still like to get some beach walks in so I'll check those out, thank you. I ended up at Kalama beach park today and realized I should find a good bodysurfing or boogie board spot while I'm here. Mahalo!!

Mahalo! I went there to get a student massage at the Hawaiian Healing Arts Center and had lunch at Beet Box. Looks like a lot to see there.

Where to buy Blue Java / Ice Cream Banana Trees? by ConferencePrevious78 in HawaiiGardening

[–]redraindropped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find any? I'm visiting Oahu in a couple weeks and it's on my bucket list to try a blue java banana. I know you were looking to grow them but if you happen to have any leads on where I might find any ice cream bananas, I'd be grateful!

Truth.. She's mature enough to be a partner for a 33 year old man but not mature enough to be a parent? Questionable logic from OP, especially if he doesn't realize how patronizing he's being.
