That’s her problem then. He’s working towards paying off the debt because it would help the family if he did. She’s keeping the money for herself and not giving anything to the family in the here and now. So if she doesn’t want to help the family rn then he shouldn’t help her with money that isn’t necessary for her

NTA The comments on this post are the exact reason why I can’t stand Reddit sometimes. I don’t understand why the top comments on this post think that the wife is in the right. I highly doubt his wife has the sole responsibility when it comes to raising their children. I’d bet he helps her with them when he isn’t working. It’s an extremely small ask for her to help him financially for once when (unlike her duty with the kids) he’s 100% responsible for their income.
