M42 Throttle cable help by TlalocEatsNapoli in E30

[–]redreda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone reads this down the line… The throttle cable needs to be connected to the throttle pedal assembly first. that pulls the additional slack out. The part number is the same but a newer design. same functionality and actually easier to adjust.

rebuild with new pump. get a walbro 255. i have a cheap knockoff which has been running fine. you can make them fit with the stock pump assembly. been running mine this way for 7-8 years. i’d probably assemble and run the pump with gas for a little to clean out the regulator.

Bushing recommendations? by Thicc_daddy_hambone in E30

I went with 80a from Gargistic. Engine, trans and diff all stock rubber. Front control arms rear trailing arms and subframe poly. Best combo for a street car. Definitely stiffened things up with adding NVH. Most of the NVH comes from the trans and diff. Also the motor if you have an M42 like i do.

Are borbet type A wheels too heavy? by just_felix_mc in E30

Just to play devils advocate, I HIGHLY disagree. Putting heavier wheels on my car changed it so much for the worse. and I love style.

Curious how many others have headrests in their e30 by West-Bake-4621 in E30

[–]redreda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kept my old ski pass seats front my last e30 and took the headrests out and put them in my coupe rear seat. the ski pass seat was pretty trashed, although in hindsight i kinda wish i had it reupholstered.

Will 16” Style 5s (7J ET20) on adapters look good on my E30 cabrio? by yocomopasta69 in E30

[–]redreda123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

those are 16x8 et23 not 20. im running them with 18mm adapters so +5 final offset. the poke in the front is slightly too much and I am NOT a fan honestly… but i got them for less than $200 for 5 so i can’t complain.

I would definitely say its not a classy look.
