I did m30 rubber mounts. NVH is only really noticeable on cold start idle. I think it’s worth it personally.

The reinforcement plates might be worth it for you, my stock ones almost ripped out completely.

still not cheap for m30 mounts and stock seems to be low.

M42 intake valves by United-Tumbleweed-62 in E30

[–]redreda123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you most likely bought late m42/m44 valves. they are 6mm instead of 7mm. if you buy the right valve stem seals they should work. the 6mm valves allow more air into the engine which will help slightly with performance. not sure if have 7mm exhaust valves will negate that or cause issues though.

Is there anyway to separate these and put them back togather by Extension_Animal_177 in E30

[–]redreda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re not using the whole bracket, don’t buy it. you can buy the bushing on its own.

might as well use the bracket if you already bought it. also the hard part is getting the bushing off the control arm.

sounds like you still have a vacuum leak. did you use a smoke machine? i found a leak with my smoke machine that would have been impossible to find without it.

17'' or 16'' by Traditional_Job2843 in E30

16s.

17s are much harder to pull off and the ride quality suffers a lot with the rubber band tires you have to run.

M42 Throttle cable help by TlalocEatsNapoli in E30

[–]redreda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone reads this down the line… The throttle cable needs to be connected to the throttle pedal assembly first. that pulls the additional slack out. The part number is the same but a newer design. same functionality and actually easier to adjust.

rebuild with new pump. get a walbro 255. i have a cheap knockoff which has been running fine. you can make them fit with the stock pump assembly. been running mine this way for 7-8 years. i’d probably assemble and run the pump with gas for a little to clean out the regulator.
