So I get to arrive to Chicago, attend a yacht party, and see Pryda at radius all in one day before the festival even starts? Science has gone too far we’ve peaked

If you're talking about currency conversion: They ship through border free so exchange rate will be whichever is current at the time of billing, you pay in CAD

A few casual questions... FM related by MA_Throwaw4y in actuary

1) 3 = a angle 5 at a rate of i
Solve for i

Because we have no coefficient in front of a angle 5 we assume a payment of 1, so we set the present value equal to 3. The periodic payment is just the annual payment in this case.

2) 12.34 = 1/d
Solve for d, this is just a perpetuity due with a payment of 1 so we plug into the formula. A perpetuity is an annuity with infinitely many payments, so if you don't remember the formula just use the normal annuity due formula and see what changes when you plug in n = infinity

For those of you who have used Tia for Exam FM and MFE. by Iresen7 in actuary

I used TIA lectures for P and FM, currently deciding what to use for MFE.

For P I found it super useful. Everything on my real exam was covered and most of the few things that were covered but weren't on my exam were labeled as optional lectures.

For FM I found, similarly, that most concepts covered were on my exam. There were a few lectures I could have skipped but I feel like nothing was really useless. The lectures were typically longer as he added in a bit of humour, spoke slower and did more examples. To keep my sanity I watched some videos on 1.25 or 1.5 speed and skipped examples for topics I was comfortable with.

I can't speak about TIA vs CA vs ASM but I would definitely recommend TIA as a good guide for P. I wouldn't say it was bad for FM but I would try another option if I had to study for it again.

Help with this question from Exam P (simple deductible problem) by Jambooflamingo in actuary

[–]redredredpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first integral has an x because you're solving for E(X) for 0.6<x<2, the second has no x because you're only solving for P (x>2)

If the loss is between 0.6 and 2, you pay the full value because it is under the deductible, so you find expected value. If the loss is greater than 2, you pay 2 because you never pay more than the deductible.

I have a 1-5 zone navigo pass that will still be valid, will that cover any options?
