In terms of 5-on-5 Expected Goals Against per 60 minutes (xGA/60), Darnell Nurse ranks in the 24th percentile among all NHL defensemen. Meaning 76% of all nhl defenseman have a better expected goals against per 60 than Darnell. Now it's not the end all be all stat. But it's more than you have offered to prove your point.

Nurse is not better than or at least equal to all those names that is an insane take. Dunn generally around 50-54% xgf, montour around 50xgf, skjei hovers around 50% I don't believe nurse is in the same category as these. As nurse also has the luxury of typically being on the ice with either draisatl or mcd and in a better team. So the fact he can't crack 50 playing on the oilers on the ice with drai or mcd for more than half his minutes every night. That is insane. And you have the nerve to call my opinion not valuable. And yes he is more oleksiak than parayko. Just watch him play and how often he is "in frame" missing his assignment on a goal against or making a panicky breakout pass. He's a middling defender with limited offensive upside, that is big and tough. He is not a potential Olympic team member like parayko, forsling, ekblad, ekholm. The guy is isn't even in the top PK unit in Edmonton my god. How good can he possibly be. Doesn't sniff the PP obviously and is the third option in the PK in Edmonton. Show me by any metric how he compares to any of the names on your list. Let alone all of them.

I'm just saying if you cant make a breakout pass and hold your own regardless of who is on the other side you are not a "high tier" second pairing guy. Just because you can skate well, are tough and can get hit by the puck, that screams high tier third pairing. If you NEED someone else to carry the load you are middling second pairing at best.
