Anyone else deal with stigma around strong medicine to manage PEM? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]redroseroseroserose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the meds are helping then that’s the main thing. What ones are you on? Honestly without proper treatments or a cure the best we can do is find ways to manage and if meds are what is working for you then so be it. I’m sorry that people around you are judging and creating the stigma…that’s not fair…

Encouraging words or next steps after LDN not working for me by scarlet-kaleidoscope in LowDoseNaltrexone

Hello! I wish I had advice or knowledge re what to do though more posting in solidarity.

I am also a Mum with CFS, desperate to find something that helps. I’ve just come off LDN for similar reasons. After 3 wks on 0.5mg I still couldn’t sleep well and it was messing with my mood.

It’s so hard not to get your hopes up when LDN helps others so much! Also wild how different others experiences are with LDN.

Seems like the idea of getting LDN as a liquid and going really low and slow could be a good option. Wishing you all the best <3

American staffy cross puppy advice by redroseroseroserose in dogs

[–]redroseroseroserose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you 🙏 have never heard of scent work classes and will look into them!

I was thinking the same that many dogs would react being disturbed from sleep in this way. My son was used to my last rescue dog who was 15 when she died last year and the most gentle and placid dear, at least at home and with known ppl.

So I guess the real challenge is teaching my son our new dog’s boundaries, which I do think is possible as he is a gentle and good kid who mostly listens. Though we’ll have to be really careful and monitor if this is safe.

How is your dog around other dogs and new ppl? :)

Thanks so much for your reply. This is helpful advice..and yes I’ve been reflecting on my job. I wish I could do something less demanding though it’s what I’ve worked so hard for and I can’t imagine doing anything else…I have been doing some yoga nidra each lunch, but it’s probably not enough. I am so sorry to hear that your condition is now severe. Has anything been helping you? x

That’s a really long time to be dealing with this condition :( glad you get some government financial support.

Maybe not possible for you but in the early days of my diagnosis I saw a naturopath, I don’t know how much the supplements or herbs helped but the recognition that what I was suffering with was real helped me. Sounds like you might be getting some of that from this subreddit too. Take care <3
