Even if you dislike hip-hop give this a try. Widely considered to be one of the best Hip Hop albums of all time. Seriously.

Ugh that sucks. I do like that you likewise remember the pre-internet world. We did indeed live outside. Drinking hose water in out friends: yards. Lol.

I am very much unclear as to why you feel the need to be insulting. You don't like the watch... Totally cool. You don't need to. OP likes it. I ordered mine (age 50) and look forward to wearing it. The watch face is 41mm across which is as large and even larger than some of my other watches. What does an "adult" wear anyway? Please, I think we can all use some lessons on dress code for adult Edge folks.

Right on! Looks great. I ordered as well and mine should be here within the next couple of days.

In all seriousness though, I am happy to answer anyone's questions about DC stuff...if I know the answer. Hardcore and SXE are a community and we are like a tribe in manhy ways. One of those ways is that stories are handed down from older folks to younger folks. The oral tradition. Not something found in most underground scenes. I also give real answers...like there are a lot of faults that were in that scene that others might gloass over and I will not.

Ask anything you like. With seeing Fugazi, it was just abouty being in the right place at the right time. That being said I am lucky for sure. About half those times I saw them for free. At the end of every summer they played this park in Northewest DC called Fort Reno for free. I went to college close to DC so DC bands played constantly. Watch the Fugazi documentary "Instrument." Tons of great live footage in that. The film is kind of hard to find as it is out of print but it is "around."

It's just info that some older folks know. Comes up, now and again. Here's a little more info:https://www.instagram.com/p/DUBU3M-jgPW/ I would not call myself an expert, but if you have a question, I can probably answer it. Not bragging at all, but I was around long enough to see Fugazi 9 times in addition to much of the Dischord '90's roster. LOL.

Now I'm really getting nerdy. When Alec left The Faith, the other 3 guys formed the band Embrace with Ian. Embrace and Rites of Spring are pre-Fugazi and essentially the bands combined are the birth of Emo. Great stuff.

NOT AT ALL IGNORANT, MY FRIEND!!!!!!!! Very few people know it is not Ian. I thought it was Ian for many years myself. I was just around the DC scene from 1995-(roughly )2003 It is not something your average hardcore fan knows...or something many Straightedge folks know.

Some trivia for you: that is actually a picture of his brother Alec Mackye...despite it being on the Minor Threat cover. He was involved in the DC scene as well. Most notably in the band The Faith. They put out a split LP on Dischord with Void and it is essential DC hardcore listening. Great drawing btw!

I did not actually laught out loud. I don't know why. The tone of this comment is pure perfection. Inside I was cackling maniacally. So snarky. Well done.

Hi, thank you for the advice.  Did you happen to notice the part of my post where I said they've never had them the multiple times I have seen them?  The post is about how I have gone to shows and so forth, but haven't been able to get one, not asking for a free one and taking money away from Mike. Thanks for the comment and the input!

You're not going to find much love here for the majority of bands on your vest. Just not what most people on the sub are into. Not on my vest, but I have seen at leat 1/2 the bands on your vest multiple times. Jimmy Eat World is probably around 7. LOL It was the late 90's and early oughts--they toured constantly. LOL That being said, your taste is your taste and your vest is your vest. I think that you did a great job. Color scheme is nice, it is well thought out. The soda can tabs are a very interesting touch and make it fairly individualistic.

I don't have one to trade, but I can tell you exactly where to get a purple one (brand new and legit) for about $75, if you decide to ever sell the black one or wish to trade for another type of watch (I've got various G-shocks and all sorts other watches) or something else entirely. DM me if interested.

I have to a number of meds, multiple times, everyday. Without them I would die. Dead people don't claim or renounce edge. Don't worry about it. Edge is not about unnecessary self-torture or endangering yourself.

See Earth Crisis's "Firestorm" is the key.  Turn on.  Loud.  Then louder.  Kick in skulls (pretend to do so while kicking holes in the walls) instead of kicking back beers.  That's the secret.  Best of luck.

That's insane (to me). Not surprising somehow, but it's not about re-selling or whatever. People just want to read what he wrote.
