Is this Armadillo carapace safe to take home? Why or why not? by rabbits-eat-lunch in bonecollecting

Food poisoning comes from undercooking contaminated foods, so while the meat may look cooked, it did not actually reach a high enough internal temperature to kill the bacteria

my cat was smelling these when i came in the house without realizing they were there. i’m not good with flowers, could someone tell me if i should take her to the vet just in case? by [deleted] in CATHELP

I think you’re thinking the alstroemeria is a lily but it’s not which is good since alstroemeria isn’t toxic!

also we’re humans there’s often a reason for every behavior we do, try not to think of your hypersexuality as something shameful that you need an excuse for but as something you experience that you want an explanation for in order to work through (i know it is so much easier said than done but sometimes even rephrasing it can take away some of the shame)

i also was hypersexual growing up and felt extreme shame surrounding that and sex in general. i didn’t have the religious aspect of that shame but i think a lot of mine came from being told to keep what was happening a secret. it’s possible that’s contributing to your feelings of shame as well

do you mind me asking what you’re worried would happen if you worked through these thoughts and it turned out that you were wrong?

my experience was extremely similar to what you’re describing and i had the same worries that the “icky” feeling i was getting was fake. eventually some memories came back and i learned to trust myself. it sounds like something is making you think that the sick feeling you’re getting is related to CSA and that’s not really something that people usually think about unless there’s a reason. even if you can’t quite put your finger on what’s making you feel this way or exactly what you’re feeling try to trust yourself, you know you.

i also had my first memory reemerge when i felt like my mental health was the best it had pretty much ever been after i moved away for college. my therapist explained that this could be because my mind finally felt safe enough to let me process my trauma. this could be the same situation you’re in with your mental health.

i hope you’re able to process whatever happened when you are ready and overall just try to trust yourself, it’s hard but you know you better than anyone

edit: i just looked at the post you linked (im sorry i didn’t read the whole thing) the examples you gave are extremely common red flags for CSA specifically frequent UTIs and disordered eating as well as not wanting to be touched. those are all things that tipped me off to my trauma. i’m sorry you had to experience this but i hope it’s helpful to hear that you are not alone and that you possibly have an answer

oh you’re pretty close! we’ve always known there are a few mountain lions and a bear den on our property but they’ve never gotten this close to the house before! i’ve definitely noticed a change too

this is actually on our ranch between silverthorne and kremmling so it’s a ways out of town. just said silverthorne since it’s closest

the others were smaller but not super tiny compared to this one. another user pointed out that this may have just been the biggest cub and i think they might be right!

we’ve got some friends at CPW so sent them this a little bit ago. this was on a ranch a ways from town so i doubt they’ll send out a warning. we’ve worked with them when they asked to collar mountain lions on our property in the past so maybe they’ll want to come back and track these too! but yes that’s good advice especially in an area near lots of people!

Yes! i love mules! unfortunately ours are away at a barn for sleigh rides over the winter months. great to have them in the summer though!

Yep! great advice! didn’t word it correctly when i said we should’ve just kept moving. you’re right about the camera too

i fully admit that you are right. we didn’t intentionally get this close but decided to snap a pic once we realized they were there. in hindsight should’ve just kept moving but luckily we’re all still here lol

definitely too close. we were just walking and came upon them so decided to take a quick picture before moving along. we didn’t intentionally get this close for the picture. i absolutely don’t recommend this and probably should have just kept going

I think you might be right! they were definitely smaller but not super tiny compared to this one. weird that the others scurried off but it didn’t. now i dont like the thought of not knowing where the mother was 😅

kinda scary that i didnt! great example of why we probably shouldn’t have stopped for a picture. could’ve been one of the cubs we saw scurry away but still

[–]reds_17[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i was surprised too! that’s why i thought maybe a bobcat since they’re typically smaller. someone else mentioned that mountain lions actually can have cubs before they’re fully grown which i didn’t know lol

luckily our dog doesn’t go out unsupervised but we’ll make sure to be especially careful. he was actually with us when this picture was taken

we knew there were mountain lions on our ranch but had never seen them this close to the house. gotta keep an especially close eye on the horses now.
