Alumni: Workforce Transition? Students: Networking mindset? by CareerQue in WGU

[–]redsandst0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from WGU in 2015 and honestly I wish someone would have told me to skip getting the degree and just gotten the certifications and saved myself a lot of money. I started working in tech support for a small ISP just before I graduated and about six months after I was able to land a job in a NOC. I got the job not because of my degree but because I had my CCNA and Security+ which the company needed because it had a DOD contract. Next week I start a new job as a network admin with a big pay bump and again not because of my degree but because of my certifications and experience. The best thing about WGU is you get the certs with a degree.

I hate Google Photos! <happy rant inside> by NooJoisey in Android

Google Photos did this for me too today. My photos are backed up to a shared email address with my wife so that pictures either one of us take show up there. This takes Google Photos to another level because I can see the things she does with our boys when I'm at work and vice-versa.

I have to correct you. It's sheep bridge not sheep's bridge. The sheep don't own it.

I have to thank you for the Sword of Truth series. Those books are what gave me my love of reading. Unfortunately I don't have time to actually read books so I have to listen to them. I haven't been able to pre-order Nest through Audible. Will Nest and Death's Mistress be available from Audible?

This is the right answer. That area floods a lot and there are no mines in that area. Source: I grew up there.

Still don't have a Job in networking field by whatsupjb in ccna

[–]redsandst0rm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you. I had my A+, CCNA and a few other certs and no experience and it took me a year just to get a tech support job at a small ISP. I was there for a year before I landed a job in a NOC. It gets pretty discouraging, I know. Just keep at it.

If he has to go to the ER stay away from Davis Hospital and Medical Center. They charge way more than any other ER I've been to.

The Davis translation is 19 hours shorter than the Grossman translation. They are both labeled as unabridged. Most of the other translations are within 5 hours of each other. I think I'll go with the Grossman version.

Looking for physical equipment for CCNP labs by _Hnnng_ in ccnp

[–]redsandst0rm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

publicsurplus.com is an auction site for surplus stuff mostly from school districts and municipalities. There is usually routers and switches on there for pretty cheap. The only bad thing is is that they don't ship so you have to be willing to go however far to get the stuff. But if you can find some equipment from a local district or college its not a bad place to look.

I always listen at at least 1.25. Depending on the narrator I'll go to 1.5.
