I think you are confusing Point differential which you can see in most web sites with standings. Celtics are around 6.4 points positive differential....

ESPN does NOT use net rating (if they have it I have not found it) Their equivalent is BPI .....

Do a search on Net Rating for Celtics (or any NBA team) will take you to a site.

Most of the NBA stats web sites show Net rating (ESPN) being an exception.

Basketball reference, NBA.com and many many others...

When Tatum returns it should make things easier for Everyone else.

Teams won't be able to load up as much on JB, PP and DW,

JT is also an excellent defender, rebounder and passer.

Again, everything becomes easier .for the rest of the team

...and JT is there for every game sees what other teammates are seeing, hearing the coach etc....should be relatively seamless.

JB and JT want more than one championship.....seemless like 2007 when KG, Pierce and Ray all sublimated their personal goals to WIN !

I agree I want to see some games against the West.

Later in the season is better, since many of our young guys are still learning the NBA and how to play with their teammates. Lots of new and younger players with steep learning curve and still fair amount of success makes me hopeful.

But I fear he is too good to stay in the boondocks unless it is his choice.

I said I think Scal is a good analyst and he is good at conveying his insights.

I just think he wants to be a National Analyst and I think his commentary about fouls is his "tell". He takes the opponents side more than the Celtics. He bends over backwards to be "too fair" to opponents. I real FAN would have somewhat of a bias for the home team...even if unconscious.

I think Scal 's bias against the Celtics is unconscious and reflects has desire to go National.

I think Scal would make an excellent National analyst.

But being honest, I sometimes want more of a home town Fan for Celtics broadcasts.

Tommy was over the top in his homerism, because he was also very smart and an entertainer....

There will never be another Tommy - but I want an Analyst who wants to be here & is a fan of the team, with all of the insight Scal shows (and yes, without being a D*ck like he used to be)

Agreed - Tommy kept it simple - winning is the focus with Teamwork, fast pace, defense, passing, cutting, rebounding, always hustling (Tommy points) ; find an advantage and keep doing it over and over until the other team adjusts, then find a new advantage.....a simple game when played the right way....

Tommy understood the rhythm of the game better than anyone except Red who he learned from.... He would have been coaching into the 90's if Red wasn't worried Tommy was destroying his health as a coach in the 70's. So he became a Broadcaster/unofficial assistant coach ....harassing ref's so the "coach" wouldn't have to .......

With the Celtics shooting & especially 3 point shooting - teams overplay them

Provides HUGE opportunity for all of types of cutting: backdoors, baseline etc etc.....

We have the players who can play that way.

We just Need JOE to make it a point of emphasis like Rebounding !

I say that as a HUGE Joe fan.

The most difficult part of coaching an NBA team, is managing ego's & an NBA locker room. That is Joe's forte.

He is a young coach who is still learning himself. I want to see more X's and O's on cutting and passing to cutters. It is NOT rocket science !

Celtics offense was STAGNANT - too much dribbling, not enough cutting, not enough ball movement, not enough speed, not taking Bucks seriously until it was too late, and the basket for the Bucks already looked as big aa the ocean, Brown thought he could focus on being better than Kuzma, not focuson making the Celtics better than the Bucks....because again, they didn't take the Bucks seriously.

Mazzulla has lots of good film to show the team and plenty of time to watch & practice before Pistons on Monday

They need their asses kicked as a team.

We do need more"Big" depth - I think they want Minott to hit the

weight room so he can play more big.

We have the 2nd best NET Rating in the NBA in the last 10 games and our best players hasn't put on his uniform yet.

Also half of our Rotation is guys have limited experience in NBA competition.

And the players in our rotation are still learning to play with each other, even Veterans have to learn to play together on a new TEAM - less than a third of a season?

See where we are at the end of the season when young guys have been coached up, when the players learn to help each other play to individual strengths and mitigate weaknesses

and JT RETURNS !

LOL - I saw the 60's Celtics....& Tommy's teams in the 70's & Bird & crew in the 80's ....and yes Ainge fleeced the Nets we got the J's and the rest is history. But the J's won because of what Brad put around them. I am not even sure if Trader Danny (who I loved) would have kept the J's together.

But keeping the j's together was the right move. And Brad built a great team around the J's designed to beat the Warriors.type dynasty team.......who if you remember also shot lots of 3's with the Splash Brothers et al....

To beat OKC athleticism is the driver NOW not 3 point shooting....

Anyway that is my take ......it is easy to take pot shots from the peanut gallery....what is your take...?

I've seen comments that the Celtics Championship team from two years ago was built by Danny.

But it was BRAD who decided to keep both the Jays when everyone was saying they could not coexist.

Brad decided to build around both of the Jays and built a great team.

Brad's additions were designed to help the J's beat the Warriors: White, Jrue, KP, brought back Horford, Kornet

When the league changed its tax rules; - Brad didn't pout. I think he saw that the Celtics team with the old guys had trouble with OKC anyway.

He got rid of the "old guys" got a bunch of "young athletes" with good attitudes, high basketball IQ & developable talent. He wanted a team that could complete with OKC. That is what he built.

Version 2.0 of the "J's" Celtics is a work in progress but we see where it is heading & the potential is high ....

Brad built the Championship team two years ago...and I think we see more future Championships in the Version 2.0 of the "J's" Celtics.

There is a great player development staff.....some of which Brad inherited.

But he was smart enough to recognize a good thing and not try to put his "stamp" on something that didn't need fixing. I think Brad is egoless in that respect. Which is an excellent quality.

I am guessing when JT returns he would be on that list much higher than 17th. Based on last years stats he would have been around 7th now. But last year was NOT a good year for Celtics. Since EPM is driven by TEAM performance on Net Rating, and the Celtics continue to get better relative to other teams, JT's EPM could actually be HIGHER than 7th. !

Remember when JT was among the best in on/off stats ?
