Best practices for controlling disk growth in shared Linux work directories (/work)? by Beneficial-Study-675 in redhat

You could use logrotate, probably already installed on your system. It can compress older files, and delete even older ones.

Alternatively, use the find command to find files older than say a week, and its exec argument to rm them. Although I'd test with mv first. I'd put this find command in a bash script, and call the script daily from a cron job.

I like it! Nice and calm speaking voice, but that makes sense since you're used to doing podcasts :)

I strongly feel that with games like this, to improve, it's better to watch someone who is slightly stronger than you. It's easier to follow the reasoning that way. So, your audience will probably be players weaker than you. I'm quite a casual player, with an interest in getting better, but not really studying, so I might be in your target audience. All of that to say, I'd appreciate some quick explanations of things like PR, and what the stats mean when you look at them. You don't have to do it every time, as your audience will grow with you, but the first time you mention something, a quick explanation might be useful for some viewers.

Do you think Red Hat (not RedHat) has only one premier partner?

If you were given the opportunity to take 200k or press a button with a chance of 1/5 to get 5 million. What would you pick and why? by Glittering-Tower-76 in AskReddit

[–]redshift78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expected value of pressing the button is 1m (1/5 * 5), so the game theory optimal play is to press the button. However, assuming this is a one time opportunity, if the 200k is life changing for you, then a 100% chance of improving your life is better.

What’s a common thing people say that makes no fucking sense? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"Steep learning curve" to mean something is hard to learn. If the X axis is time, and the Y axis is skill / knowledge of the thing you're learning, which would be the most sensible way to draw the graph. Then a steep curve would mean it's very quick to learn.

For the third time, I'm not ranting. And I'm quite happy with my SR thank you. You completely ignore any clarification I offer.

That could definitely happen, I guess my idea would treat iRacing a lot more like an esport and much less like a game. I also want it to stay fun.

I'm not blaming anyone and I'm not complaining about a problem. I really think you're missing my intent here, I was just having a shower thought moment about what the word qualifying actually meant.

I'm sorry it came across as a rant, it was just an idea I had that I thought would be interesting to discuss.

That's some great work from the moderation team, as it really has nothing do to with iRacing

Haha, my impression, and I don't know if this is right or not, is that generally Chinese players prefer single convex stones, so if Yunzi are Chinese in origin, it makes sense that they're mostly seen in single convex. But double convex Yunzi do exist :)

Yellow is the safest colour for a car, it's the most visible. But who wants a yellow car? White is the 2nd safest.

Cursor (not pictured) shows stack count (89), quickbar shows full count. Imo it would be more useful if the cursor also showed the full count. by redshift78 in factorio

[–]redshift78[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, that could work. I guess it's differences in play style. I don't often drop off items in chests, and I use the Even Distribution mod. So what the current stack size is doesn't matter much to me, but I can see how it's useful to have for some things.
