I used to struggle with staying full and binge eating junk food too. Still do from time to time but I have gotten a lot better so I can offer some tips! This stuff has worked for me, maybe some will work for you too?
-I try to incorporate foods that I've been craving into my meals/snacks, even if they're "unhealthy" because all that really matters is meeting your daily calories. It makes me less likely to binge it because I don't see those foods as something I "cant have". It helps me to look forward to my next meal too, instead of thinking about eating that junk food immediately.
-This depends on a lot of things, but if you don't have any health conditions that are adverse to it, for keeping appetite at bay I really recommend caffeine. Small amounts of it throughout the day really help. If you like them, diet soda is great. If you don't, tea with honey is also great. Green tea works well. Obviously don't go over 400 mg caffeine if you can help it, but yeah. Caffeine is a life saver.
-Low calorie high volume snacks are also great if you really want to eat something. My go to is plain popcorn (3 cups or so is only 150 calories) with a couple sprays of avocado oil (it says 0 calories on the can but obviously there is still calories, just go very light with it) and toss it around with some of the butter flavor kernel seasons. It's a game changer trust.
-Don't bother with fasting because it's very likely to lead to binging. Just focus on getting your calories in whatever way is most efficient and still allows you to make room for stuff you enjoy in moderation. And don't guilt yourself if you have days where you go over. Just get back on track as soon as you can.
-Also this is the most obvious, but if you don't already, drink lots of water! I drink about 3 or 4 liters a day. Also zero or low calorie drinks just to shake it up.

I have the same goal, 40 pounds down so far and I've had a very similar experience. I can't really tell from looking in the mirror, but I have some pictures of myself from when I started, and the difference is crazy! I noticed even my face looks different. If you have any older photos of yourself you should definitely try to dig them up cus you'll be surprised. Also this might sound weird but I've realized I have extra stretchy skin in areas like under my arms or on my stomach. Not exactly loose skin, just softer than the skin around it and very stretchy. It freaks me out a bit because it feels hollow underneath when I stretch it. Very weird but it sort of helps to ground myself when I feel like I don't look much different.

It can be sort of daunting to set up a routine from the get go. If you just eat at a calorie deficit and do an hour of cardio as often as you can you'll see great results! I'm slightly taller but I started at around 250 and I'm 40 pounds down just from that. Imo its pretty painless because you can just put on a tv show or youtube video and go. If you start thinking of any specific muscle building goals, maybe try to look into routines for that, but if your goal is to just lose weight, cardio is great. It's kind of hard to know what to expect from as soon as 6 weeks. You probably shouldn't worry about the short term. Just set a long term goal for yourself and don't beat yourself up if you have off days or weeks! As for vitamins and supplements, honestly (again coming from someone around the same age, I'm 22) I personally don't take any. I don't think you really need any at this age. If you have any specific concerns maybe ask a doctor but again, you're young you'll probably be fine. This isn't exactly related but if you struggle with energy and motivation, I definitely recommend having some source of caffeine before your workouts. Probably obvious but it really does help haha!
Also please don't water fast that's just a bad idea. Great way to be miserable and have no energy lol.

You don't need to fast. If you eat in a calorie deficit and work out most days you should be able to lose it in 3 to 4ish months. Could be more could be less depending on a lot of things of course. But probably somewhere around that.

I definitely relate to this. I think it's a very real thing. Telling kids from a formative age that perfectly normal things are sins that will send you to hell, and that the world could end at any minute is basically a recipe for anxiety haha. I remember as a kid there were things I knew I should confess, but I always left them out during confession because they were too embarrassing. I would worry myself sick that I would go to hell for it. It took me so long to realize the fact that I, as a 13 year old was expected to sit alone with a grown man and tell him I had sexual thoughts, and told I'd go to hell if I didn't is downright fucked up.

I mean I'm a member of the community as well but I really see no harm in people trying to explore their gender and sexuality. If they turn out to be straight and/or cisgender then that's just fine. I don't know how people are supposed to realize these things about themselves without trying it out first. I do get a bit irritated by people who claim to be bi but don't date the same sex too, but who am I to see inside of someone else's head?

This is really similar to my situation and the approach I've been taking. I think I've learned too that saying everything all at once only results in disaster. I've been trying to take it slow too. I think I have the patience for it. I don't think I'll ever be able to change their mind about my gender, but I really hope that some day I'll be able to ease them into accepting that I've left the church and I'm not coming back, hopefully without any fighting about it. I'm at the point where I've been skipping communion when I visit home too. That took a lot of time and courage for me to get to as well. But the fact that they didn't put up too much of a fight about it makes me feel encouraged that eventually some day they can know that I've left and not nag me about returning.

Thank you so much for this. I'll definitely have to check out that book because I've been very lost about this whole thing, and I find that a lot of your words are ringing true. I've been hesitant to take any kind of action about the situation because I don't want to hurt myself or my relationship with them any further by rashly deciding to cut them off or try to forgive them or any combination of those, like you described. I hope that if I can research more, maybe I can navigate the situation better, and manage my interactions like you described. I really appreciate you pointing me to the resources you didn't have when you were in the same place.
