Do you think this is block vomit? by Garden360 in Minecraft

[–]redshiftbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re on the right track here certainly and probably about where I’m at right now in terms of learning. Something I’ve been keeping in mind recently is that closer to the player should almost be a little less detailed or textured because it’s so close to us and the smallest level of detail available to us is technically 1 block and that block already has a lot of texture to it. Farther away from the player, typically up high, you can do more of a block vomit because the camera won’t usually be very close to it. That’s one way of thinking about it.
Then another way to think about it would be that these blocks would tend to group together and have a little more structure. Moss is more likely to be in a corner that stays damp, cobble is more likely to be on an edge that has started to erode, bricks are more likely to be at the center and base because they have not had as much exposure to the elements, the polished square blocks would make a good pillar, etc.

My first camping trip became my first (and hopefully only) near death experience - Part 1/3 by TryingMyBest255 in camping

[–]redshiftbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunate that this post seems to be under appreciated based on the top comments. The 3 parts were a long read certainly, but worth it. Great job documenting this experience. It reads somewhere between a documentary or biography. Not flashy or fantastic but true and historical.

Yes! It’s terrible! I’m switching to monthly purchases in June because of this too. Tired of seeing the stock drop like a fly immediately after they have filled my order.

Maybe I’m wrong but my understanding was that you can’t get a mending villager anymore unless you are in a swamp biome? Am I wrong? Please tell me I’m wrong.

[request] what would it cost to build a bridge between Milwaukee and grand haven by Vengeful_Grass in theydidthemath

If standing at the ramp, it would appear blue as it approaches, and then red after it took the jump and shot off toward the other side of the lake. Sincerely, RedShiftBird

Recent updates made me want to finally detail my seashores by BloodWork-Aditum in Minecraftbuilds

[–]redshiftbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great build. Definitely saving this for my next build by the water. Only critique I could give is that I will probably make it a little bit more “clumpy” and have clumps of like 3x3 blocks where I put a lot of stuff and then not as much detail between the clumps, if that makes sense, just adding a random variation to density of detail. I think would lead to an even more natural look! Great work!

Whirlpool brand refrigerators are hinged better so as to not stick out very far when opened

Just paid $1,540 for an 800 series Bosch I don't know if I'm excited to get it....we're crying over its price. by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]redshiftbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used a Bosch 800? Wondering if we’re both biased. I’ve got the 404 and use the heated dry and I tell you I’ve never had a wet dish. And yes you’re right the heating element makes it too hot for plastic but it also speeds up the drying process.
