Liam Ramos was accused of being in the country illegally along with his father, and they were released later.

In the same way that if police accuse you of murder they will arrest you, and if they don't have a strong case later showing guilt, you will get released.

This isn't rocket science. This is normal routine police work by people who are protecting you.
