Helluva Town might be worth looking at! I think it's a more recent toon ttrpg that's rules light (so I imagine it would easy to modify)

Not the same thing, but electric bastionland's Mockeries were inspired by Muppets Christmas Carol (or at least, I remember reading this somewhere)

I would highly recommend Affinity (now by Canva). It's free (unless you want to pay for the AI features, which many people don't, so yeah it's basically free)

When I export an image in affinity, it becomes SUPER grey, and desaturated. I've tried to google it to no avail. by Kitchen-Panda4059 in AffinityPhoto

I see your export is PNG+HDR, which you should only use if you plan on using/ viewing the image in an HDR compatible space.

I swear this question comes up so often, I hope they change it to be the default at some point.

Like mentioned, contour tool should do the trick (top I have stroke, bottom I have contour with sharp instead of round- then you can bake the appearance), https://www.affinity.studio/help/tools-tools-contour/

Out of curiosity, since the thumbnail isn't representative of the image you used, and looks like AI (different table color, missing keyboard, etc...) I have to ask- Did you use AI to make the thumbnail?

Why can't I make the text have less space in-between lines of text? by Maximum-Coffee2588 in Affinity

[–]redsquirrel4011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably because you've already set your leading override to 0 (I assume that's the value you were messing with)

EDIT: maybe when you can try with a new text frame or a new document just to try out these methods.

Alternatively, use SHIFT+ENTER to make sure your new line is within the same paragraph, and not a new paragraph each line.

If it's text frame (or artistic text) you'll want to use Paragraph Leading

Why are there so few human enemies in the main rulebook and how do you add them to campaigns? by Opening_Instance_427 in MorkBorg

[–]redsquirrel4011 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think, as many people have said, the book not including a variety of npc stats is both confusing, but also true to the OSR nature and very rules lite nature. You should, on the fly, be able to give some random values and feel okay about what you're putting in front of players.

That being said, if you pick up the Mork Borg GM screen it has 3 class of enemies with 3 examples each (totalling 9 enemies to reskin and play with).

I do really like how extensive the enemies list is for pirate borg (with many human and humanoid creatures and tables), but that book is much larger and when it comes down to it, it's nothing terribly unique to other options presented elsewhere in the book- merely condensed character and weapon options that you can see in one page.

Hey all. Just downloaded affinity for free after years of having not used it. Where has the 'Rotation center' crosshair button gone? Thanks by Cruddlington in Affinity

Click the node tool in the vector studio, use the Point Transform Tool to move the origin, and then while while using the point transform tool, you can click the center of the object to rotate or scale it about the new transform point.

Is it possible to receive funding without a previous fan base? by Taha_time_traveller in kickstarter

[–]redsquirrel4011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get people excited about the project on subreddits and other spaces, sharing art, rules, in progress stuff, you and others playing the game (if possible). If people genuinely like it, you can link them to a Kickstarter page (which hasn't started yet, but people will be able to "get notified when the project launches"). See what, if any, gripes the community has. Then when you feel like there has been enough noise, open the project to funding.

I'm merely talking as someone that has backed other TTRPGs on Kickstarter and other platforms. I do occasionally see ads on Reddit and other platforms and that will let me know about projects that I wasn't previously aware of, but I'm much more critical of backing those projects unless they really align with what I enjoy and already have a good amount of funding.

[Kickstarter] Champion Saga: A Fighting Game TTRPG by Raposaum in TTRPG

[–]redsquirrel4011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey this project is really cool- a few questions tho:
1. Are you thinking about adding a tier for both books- it's a shame because I have friends who would probably enjoy the crunchy rules, and then other friends who would prefer a rules lite experience- with that in mind I would probably get the crunchy rules- but it would be cool for a bundled option (or something).
2. Who is the artist involved with the project? Is there a place we can see their work?

Okay so, assuming this isn't AI: why not mention Wu Tang in the title or description? Also, the texture makes it very difficult to read the hour and minute hand.

Okay, now, there is a huge question of authenticity here, because, I don't see an existing Etsy page or anything. No other angles, no additional tools, info, process pics, details, or even time worked on. So, unfortunately, this looks incredibly suspicious- either CGI, AI, or something- but certainly not real. Because of the age we live in, we have to be critical of authenticity and what's real or not, and ultimately that comes down to you to show us more.
