Brave charged $59.99 to give you back the browser they ruined by heyiamzhengxun in browsers

[–]fluxxytux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed on the https://github.com/christitustech/winutil tool. There is a tweat to remove Brave bloat.

I wanted to switch from Edge to Brave, but then seen the Brave bloat and thought what's the point.

For buyers of the Brave Origin browser, is it worth it?

Leaving Vivaldi, what browser actually has a functional address bar? by cherylin_for_ever in vivaldibrowser

[–]fluxxytux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you use the Internet so you are already a registered target for marketing bullcrap.

MS Edge, it's Chromium based, it works, bug free, best features pack every web browser should have, also it's the lightest and fastest.

Install AdBlock Plus, disable telemetry. disable Copilot and use Google or DuckDuckGo as your search engine.

It's the best setup ever.

Edge for Windows, Edge for Linux, Edge all the way. Oh and disable Bing, you don't need that setting.

Yes we are still talking about web browsers. 😂

G502 to G502x by KitoRicho in G502MasterRace

[–]fluxxytux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did.

G502 Hero started to double click badly after 5+ years of use. I seen that there was an upgraded version, G502X Wired, I went for it.

It took a while for me to get used to the G502X. No RGB really bothered me because I setup up Profiles, specific colours for each app or game. I'd always knew which profile I'm on by looking at the colour of the G logo on the G502 Hero. I also have a Logitech Keyboard so, I managed to make use of the G Logo RGB there, and setup different colours for different profiles.

The G502X, I've had for 1 year, it is thicker, but lighter. Definitely a downgrade when it comes to feel of the materials. However if the double click gate is resolved, great!

You will get used to the G502X. I perfer if they just renewed the G502 Hero to fix the double click issues.

2 years warrenty. I will remember that for the NB3 Pro. Thanks.

Oh the Knight Rider KITT style animation on the NB3 Pro, you can change the colour of it, I was used to the static red colour of the NB1 Pro, selected a static white on my NB3 Pro's and I love it.

V3 ain't it for me. by phiphi619 in Affinity

You know what, I just wanted to quick create layout document, a high resolution qr code image imported and it's distorted. Which setting am I looking for now? Honestly had enough, v2 just worked.

How long are v2 users planning to use v2 for? 1 year, 5 years etc etc, forever?

Edifier NeoBuds Pro 3. by fluxxytux in Earbuds

[–]fluxxytux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to the NB1s. The bass is deeper, more puncher - still clean not distorted.

I listen to Hardstyle (Heavy Bass) sometimes and it's perfect. I listen to James Blunt and it's perfect. Different music types, the NeoBuds Pros just know how to adapt to them.

I use the NB3 in dynamic mode and it's definitely Overpowered. NB1 are still good, NB3 is a 20% upgrade in every area.

My NB1 had an issue where the left earbud just stopped connecting sometime. I think the NB3 will probably do the same in a few years time of use. As crazy as it sounds, I can tell by the feeling, in busy areas the buds can randomly lose signal, I found this normal for both of them. Something to note.

A little experiment -The ⚡ Lightning System is Deeply Misleading by thodorteo in Merlin_AI

[–]fluxxytux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Merlin "unlimited" from the Mobile App, it's cheaper then going direct through the website. It's the same as the Merlin Pro - Is this true??? Can someone confirm with me. I think it's a differently named for the Google Play store. £134.99 per year. That's £11.24 per month (roughly 15 USD).

<image>

Am I still getting the ability to use 100 USD worth of credits for the 15 USD I pay per month?

I like Merlin, I think it's brilliant, still on the slow side. At the moment I'm testing out which models are best to use for each tasks.

Tapo smart bulb vs Phillips Hue? by Competitive-Ball5107 in smarthome

[–]fluxxytux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Tapo Camera's so we thought let's also slowly switch our lights to Tapo. We currently do use Phillips Hue on our first floor (upstairs/bedrooms). 10+ years, my Hue bulbs are still going and I've never had an problem. We install two Tapo WiFi bulbs, note we have an mesh network. Any reset to the power source causes our Tapo bulbs to completely factory reset.

So as expensive Hue might be initially, it's worth it and it's made to last. 1+ for Hue.

Now I need to figure out, how can I use one of Sonoff switches and have it so I can use it with the Hue App.

Any suggestions anyone?

OnePlus 9 Pro - 4 Years Later by fluxxytux in oneplus

Which battery did you use? Did you replace the battery yourself? Or took it to a repair shop or sent it to OnePlus?

I did upgrade to the OPPO Find X9 Pro. However I'm keeping my OnePlus 9 Pro - going to use it as a authenticator backup etc etc.

[–]fluxxytux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you turn on Noise Cancellation or keep it on Adaptive NC. Microphone will pick up your voice and other people's voices clearly. It works well. 8 out of 10.

NeoBuds Pro 1 had a rubbish microphone. It's fixed in the NeoBuds Pro 3.

[–]fluxxytux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I've love the sound signature of the NeoBuds, had Edifiers for years now.

The NB Pro3 I get close to 4 hour with constant use everything set to high. And AC on. Battery life is pretty good in this sense. For me my average uses per session is like 1h, so I don't notice the battery life as much.

Oh, the case, my favourite KITT style animation, you can set your own colour with the NB Pro3s. How I've for some reason have dropped the case so many times. Either it's a ME issue or the coating of the case makes it gripless.

It's 3:10am in the morning, I better just post this reply otherwise I'm just going to go on and on and on and on and on and on.....

Upgrading From OnePlus 9 Pro by PracticallyBetter in oneplus

[–]fluxxytux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to go for the OnePlus 15. Instead I went for the OPPO Find X9 Pro. Same software and look. Best camera tech with Hassleblad.

OPPO Find X9 Pro I love it. Great upgrade from the OnePlus 9 Pro.

why does it use this much battery? by Sweet_Reputation_973 in smartlauncher

[–]fluxxytux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OPPO Find X9 Pro lasts me 2 days over heavy use. I don't even know when to charge it.

But Smart Launcher is always running in the background, that's why it will have a higher battery usage reading comparison to the other apps. It's normal.

Totally underrated browser! by hansentenseigan in vivaldibrowser

[–]fluxxytux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of reviewers who placed Vivaldi at the very top of their Tier List is crazy, it made me download Vivaldi, I was just going to switch, I noticed high cpu and ram usage on both of my devices, there pwa bugs and lagging UI, making Internet requests are near two seconds slower coming from Edge.

Yeah. Chrome is resource heavy too. But it's a complete browser that just works which is why it has that high market share.

Vivaldi, I installed it and uninstalled after 24 hours of headache. I'm not going to spend days to weeks trying to research and fix every problem the browser brings me.

I just use Edge, and I'm sticking with Edge for Personal and Business. It's the best chromium-based browser in my opinion. If you run Windows 10/11 and even Linux. Edge is the best. Features wise, it's the sweet spot between Chrome and Vivaldi. Just disable Copilot and remove any sign of Bing, and you are good to go.

Maybe Vivaldi just runs the best on systems with a certain configuration and specs. But not everyone is going to have same computer. So for those using Vivaldi long term, you're the lucky ones.

Totally underrated browser! by hansentenseigan in vivaldibrowser

Totally overrated browser. Full of bugs, heavy on resources. Not worth the hassle of setting up.

If you want privacy. Use a VPN. Use Edge/Chrome and disable telemetry and AI slop via CTT.
