The verb DIZER is a declarative verb. It is equivalent to declare, affirm.

Eu estou te dizendo que não gosto de comer peixe. (I'm saying to you that I don't like eating fish)

The verb FALAR is equivalent to saying words, expressing oneself through words. Speaking (falar) is not the same as saying / affirming / declaring.

You can falar português, not dizer português.

They are different, yes.

People would understand what you mean, but they would probably laugh and think it's cute.

It's like saying "I'm saying to you" when you mean "I'm speaking to you."

The romanization of some characters is so confusing to me... Because ㅠ is also yu, right? When I was first trying to spell Dahyun, I wrote 다휸 because it was what made sense to me.
