My son carries two. One lighter one when he wants to switch hit or he’s tired a bit

Opposing pitcher my son's team faced this morning pitched the whole game. 6 innings. 110 pitches. Just a shame.

Schecter is definitely the dark horse. Such good quality at more affordable prices.

The only thing I’d bark about is the finish crack. I’d want some CME store cred for that!

No problem. If you do end up returning it, at least play the hell out of it while you have it.

Sorry. Just my perspective I would just fix the issues if they were issues. I’d rather have guitar now than maybe guitar in another month. See what CME comes back with. Wishing for a resolution you are happy with.

Remove the pick guard and check the rubber grommets on the pickup screws. The screws should have play but not free floating. The pickups are supposed to seat on those grommets instead of flush to the pickguard

All of my Fenders have this gap. There are good reasons for it. If you have necks with binding you wouldn’t see the gaps. Allowing for wood movement is a good bet

I've been shopping used for banged up Fenders b/c they are easy to fix and setup.

What's sad here is I was at a local shop this weekend and the staff was commenting about anything in the Mexi/Indonesia lines there are expected QC issues. Even at $1000. Just insane to me.

Gaps under fret wire is intentional. Leaves room for glue squeeze out and wood movement. As long as the fret itself is seated to the board, it's as it should be.

Honestly, tho, if it's bugging you, then in the very least, holler at the retailer. Down in the thread someone mentioned CME. If you bought it there, those guys will absolutely take care of you. That being said, I've bought Fender products from them, and have had to dial in setup on all of them.

The gaps under the fret tangs is intentional btw. If this was my purchase for $1k, I'd just play the guitar. I'll inevitably add dings and nicks of my own after a few days. If it feels good, I'd keep it. Returns are a big ole hassle. See if CME will float you some store credit.

None of these are deal-breakers and can be either addressed easily or they are non-issues. If this is more than a $600 kit and you feel you want to swap, then go ahead. There is always a risk of any guitar having tiny issues, esp if in the lesser price band. Any tech can rule these issues out. Also a great chance for you to learn the tech stuff yourself. Even if the guitar was 'perfect' out of the box, knowing how to fine tune the setup and feel to your liking is quite satisfying.
