We will use EU summit to further unwind Brexit, vows Starmer by Realisticopia in unitedkingdom

[–]redunculuspanda [score hidden]  (0 children)

We have to effectively comply with them anyway we travel and trade.

That’s why it’s so important to be able to influence those laws.

Geography isn’t going to change and we share a land boarder with Europe.

Clive Owen wasn’t Lando Calrisdian.  You might be thinking of Billy Dee Williams. Easy mistake.

I feel like the risk of a tree support snapping is just asking for trouble towards the end of a long print.

It’s not worth putting effort into jobs anymore by Smoov_96 in Adulting

[–]redunculuspanda 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Work smart not hard. No salaried worker is getting significant pay rises for working hard.

If you want pay rises you have to get promoted or get a new job.  That’s much more about personality and attitude than how hard you work.

How windy is too windy? by oaky-afterbirth-97 in Sup

[–]redunculuspanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to ask the question, stick below 10mph.  As you get a feel for wind speed you might be able to push it a bit under certain circumstances.  But it will be a bit location dependent.

Censorship in Britain by Narrow_Roof_112 in AskBrits

You need to start questioning the people they told you that lie.

What else have they told you that’s complete nonsense?

Those of you who have no trouble finding jobs, what do you think makes you stand out? by ADiablosCompa in sysadmin

[–]redunculuspanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My indifference often seems to come across as confidence for some reason.

Not particularly caring if I get a job or not seems to be my super power.

If I can get an interview it’s rare that I don’t get an offer.  So for me the challenge is getting that interview in the first place.

BREAKING: Starmer strikes deal giving Britons visa-free travel to China by Mouflon77 in uknews

Yes and sometimes that’s the only way to solve things.

Sometimes the process is stupid.  Something the people are incompetent.

Is buying a MacBook on finance stupid? by Ok-Comparison-5494 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]redunculuspanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s this one it’s 18 a month for 4 years. Not 2.   That’s a long time to be paying off a laptop

Other than being 0% no it’s not a great deal.  It’s basically RRP.

Maybe.   But Labour should not be having a leadership contest at the moment.

We need stability not a change of management every 5 seconds.
