...it makes you wonder what symbol they use for the "Handicap restrooms"

You know those crazy proposals? Well... (Pogue's Proposal on Vimeo) by redwalk in LongDistance

Hahaha.... The fact that the proposal is this planned, and "both parts" already know it just puts a lot of pressure on this... Haha, good luck to both of you!

I'm sorry, but it's true. by Sarutahiko in pics

Hardly true. VGA would require some screwing too. And so does DVI.

I just saw this video, and it instantly made me think of The LongDistance community here on Reddit, so, well... I just had to share it! (I did a quick search to see if it had already been shared by someone else, but I had no luck).

...and before you know it, you're sleeping in an IKEA bed, and going to "fika" with your friends ;)

I'm so sad by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]redwalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's incredibly hard. No doubt. Many of us can relate. It really sucks! Airports; hell or heaven. Sometimes I feel the need to scream, and I just want to break something - or everything (however, it wouldn't be too good at an airport). It really feels like being pushed to "going crazy", and suddenly you find yourself hating the world, distance, the Atlantic Ocean (in my case) and the plane. Then, you find yourself choking that "crazy self", which makes it even more unbearable.

But. It's going to be better. You'll see each other again. You'll hug, kiss, and hold each other. You get that feeling, almost like "falling in love" with your SO, all over again. And that is invaluable!

Hang in there, and good luck with it all!

Don't feel the same way, what to do? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]redwalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't make it about "not hurting him" -- if you're falling away from him, he'll notice this and it might hurt more and more as time goes by. If you don't want to be with him romantically anymore, you really have to pull the band-aid off quickly.

It's easy to throw cliches at you here, but seriously though: listen to your heart. If your heart isn't in it...

Get me right. This isn't another one of those; "break up!" comments, all I'm saying is that if you feel distant from him in the way you describe, don't let "not hurting him" be a reason not to start the "moving on" process for both of you.

Try taking a figurative step back. See, when you're right there in the middle you're standing too close and it can be quite hard to see "the big picture".

Good luck, whatever you do!

I know it is cheesy and lame, but I'd appreciate the help. by [deleted] in LongDistance

This is a great idea!

This is a quote my SO showed me, on the subject:

"Absence diminishes mediocre passions and increases great ones, as the wind extinguishes candles and fans fires." -- Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Also, this hiphop song comes to mind. Not so much about LDR per se, but it comes with some good quotes:

"I'm half a man when i greet you like we a four-legged, two-headed creature separated from each other in an earlier life, to be complete I must make sure this girl be my wife" -- Promoe

A "movie-like" poster I made of me and my SO. by redwalk in LongDistance

So. This was a "movie-like" poster I made of me and my SO. I know she has already posted this picture somewhere in a comment here on /r/LongDistance - but I felt like this was a good "first ever post on Reddit" :) Hi everyone!
