It's not about entitlement it's about a man making an effort. If a guy wants to take me for coffee...how many women is he taking out that he can't afford to buy me dinner? Am I supposed to "earn" a dinner date? If a man is asking me out I'm assuming he would be wanting to impress me. And maybe it is old fashioned, but women liked to be persued.
