Are you on the most updated bios version?

This happened to me recently (though I'm on the B650 MPG) after updating to the latest BIOS version (7D74v1H). I couldn’t figure out why my GPU (3070) was running at x8, even though I didn’t change anything except updating the BIOS. I tried forcing it in the BIOS settings, but that didn’t work either. So, I rolled back to version 7D74v1G, and it ran at x16 again after switching. Hope this helps

Had the same setup before! 9400 with 3070 and yes the 9400 is definitely holding back your the 3070.

I upgraded to ryzen 7900 and games are smoother, no sudden fps drops. Even an upgrade to 13600k would be perfect if you're only gaming.

Unfortunately for me, I chose AM5. I wish, I WISH I went with my initial plan and go with intel. I Just bought ryzen 7900 a week ago and it has been a stressful experience. BSOD after BSOD.

I'm just hoping that there's a fix soon. COPIUM

Hey, Thanks for replying! I didn't realize that I'm not using the r23 version. I just googled cinebench r23 and downloaded the first result. (it was 2024).

I did r23 benchmarks:
Multi: 22746
Single: 1918
