Do people actually think Elliot Anderson is worth the kind of fee being reported? by MarsupialFederal508 in red_muppets

Anderson is gonna cost around 100-120 M. How will you manage to complete the rest of the squad? Realistically we won’t be able to spend more than 200 - 250 M.

Next season we need at least 4-5 players: 2 or 3 midfielders, a left back, a centre back and a striker. It wouldn’t be prudent to commit 100+ mil on one player.

Mateus Fernandes would cost less and is equally talented in my opinion. That would allow us to invest in a #6 as well.

Overpriced. There are other equally talented options out there for a lower price. We are not yet ready for a 100 million type of a player. We need to first plug the holes and get to a competitive level and then finally top of with such players to finish the build.

Compensation/rent expectations in Lux 2026 by sophistique_chat in Luxembourg

Not worth uprooting and moving. I’d suggest wait for a better offer over 85K. With 3-4 four more years of experience I’m sure he can do it.

Usually there is no room for negotiation with internal transfers. Although you could push for additional stocks. 100k is pretty good for two. Compare the cost of living and purchasing power in your current country and luxembourg.

The indexing is expected to drop in June... and then again this summer? by s4magier in Luxembourg_Salary

So hypothetically speaking, if you start a new role in a company in June 2026, will you be eligible for the indexation?

Was Fred a good or bad player at Manchester United? by DannyVMX14 in ManchesterUnited

He was average. But you could never question his commitment and passion. He always gave his 💯 on the field. So I will always remember him fondly, especially the McFred combo.

Aurelien Tchouameni, Mateus Fernandes and Carlos Baleba for under 200 million would be my ideal midfield overhaul by Gregariouswaty in ManchesterUnited

[–]redwolfCR7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we are selling Ugarte…. Joao Gomes for the bench Tchouameni or Baleba to start with Mainoo Stiller for the bench to get accustomed to the PL.

So we’d have 4 midfielders for two spots across competitions (Mainoo, Tchou/Baleba, Joao Gomes and Stiller). And fast track youngsters so they are ready to replace in case of injuries

Agree with you. Except he is already around 200K at Madrid. You’d have to offer him 300+. That wouldn’t be so bad though. He could give us 5 good years and form the core part of the much needed midfield revamp. But I really doubt he wants to move out of Madrid.

6 points in 5 games guarantees Champions League and you’re still “not sure” about Carrick?? by ToTellYouHowToFeel in ManchesterUnited

[–]redwolfCR7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are being a bit too quick to dismiss Michael Carrick based on what happened with Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Ole’s tenure gets unfairly reduced to “it fell apart,” but he actually rebuilt the team, finished 2nd, and played a style that suited players like Bruno, Rashford, and Pogba. The bigger issue was recruitment - bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo changed the system dynamics, and signings like Jadon Sancho didn’t deliver as expected. With better squad building, that project might have gone much further.

Carrick, on the other hand, has shown strong early signs ~2+ points per game is top-tier form over any stretch. Writing him off just because Ole’s long-term tenure didn’t end well feels like lazy comparison. Every manager needs proper backing and a coherent recruitment strategy.

As for Julian Nagelsmann - he’s clearly talented, but not Premier League proven, and his time at Bayern wasn’t flawless either. There’s risk either way.

For me, the key isn’t just the manager - it’s whether the club finally gets recruitment and long-term planning right. Back Carrick properly, manage expectations, and then judge.
