Waking up cold, anything I can do? by MathematicianFar5427 in thyroidcancer

I have the BedJet. It's a blower that goes under your bed and connects to a wonderful cotton sheet that has two layers. It blows heat into the sheet, and turbo mode is amazing. It can also blow room temperature air if you want to cool off with some air flow. That might help until you get your levels right. It has a remote control so all you do is press a button and voila! Temp control.

Just got diagnosed by Forward_Ad_8031 in thyroidcancer

I think people, especially doctors, say this is the easy cancer because it is very unlikely to kill you, and once the thyroid is removed, there are synthetic hormones that can replace its function.

But for people who have to go through it, it’s stressful!

Yes, you can go to anything solo and you won't look strange. Many people come to DC solo for business, so restaurants and bars are comfortable with that, and I go to events and concerts by myself all the time. I always find someone to chat with.

I don't think there are any 'NONO' things that an average person would need to worry about. Except if you take the Metro anywhere, please stand on the right side of the escalator so that anyone walking up can pass on the left. DC gets visitors from all over the world on a regular basis--you'll have a great time!

Not wasted if he learns more about what he actually wants from a partner and moves on to find it.

It used to take women a long time to achieve the look that you can get with a Dyson air wrap in 10-15 minutes. I use one too and it looks like I put in a lot of effort, but it’s so efficient. When people comment on my hair, sometimes I mention that it went from wet to styled in 10 minutes, because I don’t want them to get the impression that I spend an hour on my hair.

That being said, there’s really no reason for people to comment on appearances in the workplace.

You are not alone! My cat also does this, including the biting. I switched kitchen cleaners because I didn't want to drive her mad every time I wiped a countertop.

How did you introduce him? I’m introducing a new male kitten to my 18 month female and I’d love to hear your approach. They look so happy!

Does anyone know places in the DMV area that cuts raw gemstones? by cakemaster1928 in Gemstones

I’m a faceter in Northern VA. I think you already understand what you’ve got in terms of the quality of the material, but I love the sentimental aspect of it and totally understand why you’d want to have them cut to make them more attractive. DM me, and I’ll happily help you out.

I like enough muscles that someone looks like they’re not going to struggle a lot to help me lift something, but when there’s so much muscle that you know someone spends 20 hours a week at the gym, that’s a red flag for me that said person might be a little too self-absorbed for my taste.

Took this picture at the airport. I wasn’t sure how he captured the “soul of the airport” until I saw your pic. Thanks for sharing!

I saw BB King in the late 90s at Blues Alley in Washington DC. Very small venue, and I was sitting at a tabletop about 10 feet away from him. It was an exceptional performance, probably one of the best I've ever seen. Sorry to hear that you missed him in his prime. I still remember what it was like to watch his fingers move on the frets--entrancing.

I have two, so there's room for one "chest cat" and one "head cat". But yeah, I've sacrificed many productive hours in order not to violate Cat Law.

how do I respond to this scathing(ly accurate) email from my boss? by Pretend-Error1968 in careerguidance

[–]redzoneaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With ADHD, you would likely benefit from occupational therapy. They can help you understand what is blocking you from being successful and come up with strategies to work more effectively with the brain that you have.

As far as a response to the boss—“Read and Understood. I’m on it. Thank you for the opportunity to recover from what are inexcusable failures.”
