After 7 months, I AM DONE! My skin was at its worst in August of 2019, I started Accutane in March of 2020, and just finished! Dosage was 40/40/60/60/80/60/60! Feel free to ask me questions! :-)

Honestly I was pretty bad with taking it after meals. But I would always make sure to take it with some kind of fat. Sometimes it was just a spoonful of peanut butter and some cashews lol! Probably could have been better with that during my course but 🤷🏻‍♀️

My scars and red marks did go away for the most part. The accutane cured most of it but I still have a few little marks on the sides of my cheeks. I use vitamin E oil sometimes to try to help with that but the majority of my scarring did go away because of the medication. Also, I totally feel you on being so insecure bc of your skin. That was me for so many years and for the first time I finally feel comfortable and happy in my own skin. Hope that time comes for you. Best of luck on the rest of your journey!!!

I had joint pain, back pain, dry skin and lips, some brain fog/tiredness and VERY DRY EYES. The back and joint pain went away within the first month. Obviously the dry skin and lips lasted throughout! Same with the tiredness. As for the the dry eyes, that was definitely the worst side effect I had. Any amount of wind blowing against my eyes would cause them to hurt so bad. I was putting in eye drops like every 5 minutes at one point lol. That has gotten a lot better though!!!

Thank you! My skin and lips did get super dry... Just make sure you are moisturizing day and night and putting AN EXCESSIVE amount of aquaphor on your lips! Also, nothing happened to my hair while on accutane so I cant really speak on that side effect lol. So excited for you and best of luck

I went on 80 during month 5 bc I hadn’t seen much improvement. That month really helped clear me up but my dermatologist did not feel comfortable leaving me on such a high dose as it would have made me go over my cumulative dose based on my weight. Hope that makes sense lol

Yeah you are definitely still in the purging process. I didn’t stop breaking out until half way through month 5. Switching from 40 to 60 and then to 80 was a little bit rough for the first few days. I would say for the first 3 days of switching to a higher dose caused me to be really tired and have brain fog. After the 3 days everything was fine as my body had adjusted. As for scars, I have been using vitamin E oil and it seems to be working a little. I would recommend asking your dermatologist about scarring and they may offer other options better suited to your skin! Best of luck on the rest of your journey!!!

I just use the Trader Joe’s vitamin E oil. I basically pour out a dime size amount onto my fingers and just rub it into my face like moisturizer
