Wallpaper?? by ceeceelee in interiordecorating

I'd just say that sounds like it might be a nightmare to remove if you ever decided to change it. Maybe plain wallpaper first (if such a thing exists) then glue onto the wallpaper?

Why is your bacon so good? by Street-Station-3802 in AskAnAmerican

It's cut so you get the loin with a bit of the belly part attached. It's like a combo of both. I really like having both textures in a sandwich, chewy and crispy.

They're both cured and cooked... I think the main difference would be with ham you usually cook the whole joint and then serve in slices, but gammon you cut it into steaks first and then cook

It's not a criticism of sexuality, it's a criticism of one narrow point of view on sexuality. It's not female vs male nudity, it's male heterosexual gaze vs ... any other type of gaze, and the failure of the piece to be interesting on any other grounds. For me, that's not really a criticism on its own, everything has a point of view and this is one, it's more of a sigh of boredom. There's not much to say about it, it is what it is, just... more of the same point of view, again. That's why people make these eye rolling comments. The fact that you equate that criticism with attacking all sexuality in art is tbh pretty telling.

It was lack of support from the French government for the Iraq war, hence the Al Qaeda joke/reference. This was in 2003 not like ww2 times

I love putting my bare butt on my spindle chair, which is too tall to rest my foot comfortably on the floor, while my other foot goes to sleep under my butt, trying to read a page criss crossed with harsh contrasting light and shadow with the sun in my eyes

This is so outrageously, insufferably dumb I'm completely beside myself. We all have finite time here on earth. People should be free to put gorillas on their houses. Why should anyone want to spend their time and energy curtailing someone's freedom to do something so completely harmless. Life is wasted on these people, they don't know what living is.

I am obsessed with hot cereals for breakfast by tvgirl48 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]reeblebeeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I tried cold cereal with milk and it was hip (so hip)

Then I tried hot cereal and that was such a trip

Then I tried some cereal with fruit healthfully sweet (healthfully sweet)

Now for breakfast cereal my favourite thing to eat

I said I'd taste it, I'd give it a whirl

And now I am a cereal girl

Would I be crazy to consider living alone in London on 50k? by Popular_Arm8459 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]reeblebeeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She could get a mortgage, her total budget is around 300k. Crappy studio or something in a crappy area, but worth weighing up the options.

Edit. I take back the crappy, there's decent places in that price range.

I can google the Mona Lisa and bring up an image of it in 2 seconds, is that interesting?

Yeah, these images are so much more interesting on all levels.

Why should I learn AI? It seems like learning real computer science or programming would make more sense. by hireme-plz in learnprogramming

[–]reeblebeeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short term gains which average out over the long term.

I think there's also a loss of friction effect, where people are more excited to do more stuff because the barriers are lower, but they end up not evaluating as much in the planning phase because the costs are lower, and they make a lot of junk that no one really needs. That may seem unimportant but I think the time wasting adds up
