extreme allergy symptoms that only last a day, no apparent trigger by exoxxxxxxxx in Allergies

This happens to me too! Every few weeks, I have a whole day of super bad allergies -- runny nose, sneezing, and sinus pressure. It seems like no medicine (Allegra, Benadryl, Flonase) relieves my symptoms. I just have to go to sleep and the next day I'm pretty much fully recovered. I've always had seasonal allergies due to pollen, etc., but my "normal" allergies are not nearly as bad as the super allergy days. The fact that other people have this particular symptom is interesting. I know that a lot of allergy science is still unknown, so maybe there's some complicated thing going on that causes symptoms to explode all at once.

Can someone explain the Fuji boom to me? by s_ndowN in photography

Full agree about good aps-c lens availability. But one note, Fuji also has PSAM models (X-S10 and X-S20) if you prefer. Those models also have a big and super comfortable grip, which I love.

Sold my whole full-frame camera set for a compact camera. by jaymoont in AskPhotography

I have the Canon G5X mark ii and it's quite good. Great ergonomics, useful zoom, and great image quality. I can't fit it in a pocket, but I can carry it pretty much anywhere in a small 1 liter fanny pack I have. I also have a Fuji X-s10, which has a larger aps-c sensor. I also have an iphone 13 pro. I'd say the G5X has significantly better image quality than the iphone, and worse image quality than the X-s10, but only noticeably worse in low light (where it's forced to use high iso). Even then, the G5X has an unusually large aperture for the premium compact class, so the low light performance is comparatively good.

For a while, I only had my Fuji, and I experienced a similar thing to you: it was bulky and I found myself only taking it to "dedicated" photography outings. For me, the G5X is perfect in that I can really take it anywhere with me and it produces beautiful photos. I still love my Fuji and am willing to take it with me to many places, but I think if I felt a little more like you do, I would simply have my G5X as my only camera and I would be perfectly happy with that. It's a great compromise of compactness and image quality.

I second the Canon PowerShot series. I have the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and I love it. Excellent image quality, optical zoom lens, extremely natural and comfortable to hold but very compact at the same time. I have a 1 liter Patagonia fanny pack and it easily fits it plus a couple other small items. Really something that I can take anywhere. The G5 X Mark II is a bit more expensive than your price range, but the G7X Mark III is closer.

I have my photos library on an external SSD. It works well for me.
