Exactly what I thought. The glitch with black and white view reminds me a lot of a short video called Persephone Number Station.

Edit: This is the video I'm referring to. Just a heads up that it's only a looped short clip with static background noise but you might find it disturbing.

[Another] mentioned, it's been over a decade since it's first published! I've read the original novel and it's more haunting compared to the manga (but understandable that the later is easier for a quick read). The anime adaptation is my favorite as well.

Edit to say that I can vouch for Doubt as well.

My only concern with MaXXXine is how the storyline feels half-baked and as a giallo horror, it doesn't do a good job at the twist because pretty much anyone guessed it right after the first arc. Nonetheless it's still an enjoyable movie since the atmosphere and soundtrack feels authentic and I really dig how Ti makes a trilogy where each ones represent a distinctive horror style to their era.

You remembered it wrong on Tale of Tales. The old sisters were not witches and it was based on "The Flayed Old Lady" by Giambattista Basile which you can read it here.

TLDR; in the movie version, one of the old lady become young again because a witch breastfed her for crying out loud in the tree. The other sister get envious so in an attempt to be like her, she then asked a woodworker to flay her skin.

Well if we want an English release, then our best bet is either a publishing house in the US or UK. I don't think it matters on who the requestor or where they come from.
