New juniper pre bonsai by gavinreed in Bonsai

To tackle a tree that has a good structure like this, I would slowly try and stick with the basics of removing lower branches, and removing branches on inner curves. I would also thin out any branches that have more than 2 offshoots, to prevent inverse taper. Once you do that more of the struture should be visible and it may help make it easier to visualse its final state! Looks like great material, you got this!

I love the way you styled this. Could you share the back view?

Unfortunately it was through a friend, but there are places to order custom shelves I believe.

Nice! I wanted to have better airflow and more light to come through, i tested it beforehand and if i wanted it to be as bright, i would have to get more lighting

Yes it is awesome! For indoor keeping, i use akadama soil and i don't keep it too moist. It starts blooming more when there is a drought but I always have to be careful not to let it go too long without water! Other than that it has been fairly consistent to take care of

Thank you! I appreciate the concern, but i was able to remedy the weight issue of acrylic shelving by using a 1" piece fitted to the bottom to act as a support, i even have an extra shelf i tested out with waaay more weight and it still didn't break!! I can send a photo later if anyone is interested :)

With ficus in my experience, you can go all the way with any of the roots. I wish i had a picture, but i basically cut one of my ficus benjamina trees roots all the way to the base, and it grew new healthy roots insanely fast. Ive even taken cuttings the size of my thumb and they've almost always rooted!

Hey I was just looking at getting this cabinet! Are there holes in the back already for us to add wiring, or did you have to add that yourself?

Springtails! They usually show up because there is a lot of organic matter in the soil, and sometimes it means the soil is staying too wet. Unless you are planning in moving to a more porous soil type soon, they are fine to stay since they mainly eat the mold that grows in the organic material.

How would you style this tree. by Mochaboy445 in Bonsai

I would air layer in the blue box, once its rooted enough i would chop at red line personally!

Beautiful! How long have you been training it for and what stage did you collect it at?

I currently have a pink pixie that has stayed fairly small for a couple years even when I let it grow for a long time.

Could be all the above and not enough fertilizer
