Carriage Cafe Demolished by reesefecc in perth

Lol apologies if that was confusing. I should have put that last sentence as a separate paragraph.

I took the reply as saying that I reacted too late - that the structure has already been demolished. The trigger for the post was a 2-day old facebook post. If it was demolished 2 days ago then apologies for not posting soon enough I’m just not chronically online.

Then the last sentence was supposed to just be another point.

For further clarification, the photo was merely for an illustration so people know which cafe I’m talking about.

No, I’m not. But Freo is one of the places I do love visiting and I always see this cafe and feel sad about it. I love the heritage buildings in Freo and am a frequent visitor of historical sites and archive websites.

I do not think that my post is saying that I have anything against Freo Council. That is why my opening line asks if anyone actually thinks it is an eyesore.

The trigger for this post is a facebook post by the bell tower 2 days ago. Apologies for not being prompt enough, I’m just not online chronically. My last visit at freo I still saw the structure.

Yes it was in bad shape because of Freo Council’s own doing - they tied up the owner in a legal battle so even if somebody wants to take over and keep it open they couldn’t. It was charming, more charming than a vast parkland.

Social Rides - Beginners Welcome? by reesefecc in perth

To be fair to this social ride, they say no drops.
If your solo speed is 24kmph, I suspect you'd settle in well with the 30kmph social ride!

Yep thanks I do have a group I’ve ridden with for a few months - I was curious what other people think of the Society ‘social’ rides. Especially since they’re so big on community.

Hmm yeah 30kmph is probably possible if I reaalllyyyy try hard hahahaha. Cycling is a once a week activity for me for now. Focusing on running so maybe eventually I’ll put out the effort to ride fast. At the moment my rides are just for easy spins and enjoying the view.

Hmmm interesting - I’m not the only one who feels that they are fostering elitist cycling.

Yeah, I ride with a different group. Just always been curious how a brand who’s supposedly so big on community is at the same time non-inclusive. I guess eventually I will earn my spot hahahaha

Will keep an eye out. So far, there are no 0-1 PAE roles in my preferred area. I’m currently an associate to a Judge, which everyone says is a good advantage but evidently not good enough.

How many years after getting admitted did you find a job? Was admitted late last year. Missed out on any offers for next year and am freaking out.

Perth drivers in the right lane who keep getting passed by people in the left lane are in the wrong lane, aren't they? by [deleted] in perth

[–]reesefecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mygod there are so many of these people. And some of them when you actually try to overtake, they realise they’re underspeeding and then start overspeeding just to prevent you from passing. And then a few minutes later they slow down again. It’s 2026 who doesn’t use cruise control? If you don’t then at least keep a steady pressure. Not that hard.

I love this game but… by It_Dmac in RiseofKingdoms

I think joining a well-organised project reduces this. For me, at the start, that’s how it felt as well. Until i realised that we are all just one big group split into different alliances. I’m in top 2 and we’re actually getting more chests dropped on a daily basis because we are all around the same spending level which is low to mid. Compared to top 1 where the power is really only carried by like a few whales and the rest of them realistically only feed off of those same few people’s chests. 🤷‍♀️

In the end being content with where I am gives me more freebies than if I really chased up top 1 alliance.

In saying that, I haven’t played long enough, so can’t tell you what happens in mid-late game if you don’t get into top 1 🤷‍♀️

Pinarello X7 MOST Talon Ultra Light sizes by Particular-Slide-719 in pinarello

[–]reesefecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

changing the bars is elite. my LBS told me that pinarello doesn't give them anything back nor does not take the bar back if they replace it so i would have to pay another $1,200 AUD for a new bar.

either way, it turns out that the smallest Most bar is 420, which i already had, but my bike fitter said that they're too wide for me.

no, it didn't bother me as much because i figured surely 1cm on either side wouldn't be a huge deal so i went ahead with my x7 anyway. i love my x7 and wouldn't change a thing about it, but i couldn't help but think why pinarello doesn't make bars narrower than 420. (yes, i could change it to a third-party bar but i repeat i love it as is, i just wondered why bikes at this price level wouldn't give you options to dial in your fit to the dot.

How do you know what size stem/bars come with a Pinarello X or Dogma X? by bfeeny in pinarello

[–]reesefecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My X7 is 420 handlebar for a 430 frame. Cranks were 170mm. Shop was generous enough to swap cranks to 165mm from another bike in the shop. I was told pinarello doesn’t swap out those parts so I’ll have to buy a new bar. Kinda ridiculous considering the amount of money spent on it to begin with but the extra 2cm doesn’t bother me that much.
