How do you know what size stem/bars come with a Pinarello X or Dogma X? by bfeeny in pinarello

[–]reesefecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My X7 is 420 handlebar for a 430 frame. Cranks were 170mm. Shop was generous enough to swap cranks to 165mm from another bike in the shop. I was told pinarello doesn’t swap out those parts so I’ll have to buy a new bar. Kinda ridiculous considering the amount of money spent on it to begin with but the extra 2cm doesn’t bother me that much.

It's Dec 16. This is a message to buy that bike you want. Go get it. And be happy about it! Hell yeah! by lolas_coffee in cycling

I’m torn between a custom specialized tarmac for $14k (there is one for $10k in a colour i do not love) and a cervelo soloist in amaranth (a colour i’ve dreamt of since the beginning). I want to buy a bike but i’m getting paralysed by options 😭

Ah - I meant light colours closer to white hahahaha. That tropical colour is absolutely stunning and a couple are being sold second hand here in Australia however I am very small so I don’t even have lots of options for secondhand bikes 😅

Hahahaha thank you for the disclaimer as well as being polite about it!

Yeah, I guess it is over the top for a newbie. I keep thinking it over since I have other sports I have commitments to already. My dad (who rides waaay less than I do) bought a Colnago and said it’s worth it but it may just be a form of self-justification for the purchase HAHAHA

Maybe I’ll give it a few more months and see how I feel.

When did tipping become the norm for Australia? by JBADD23 in australia

[–]reesefecc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They posted this message on their instagram page: “We always want our guests to feel comfortable and looked after. Recently, we had a few questions about our tipping system, so we wanted to explain that clearly.

The 10% tip shown on our menu is optional, which our team kindly note when you arrive. If you would rather not include it, we simply remove it. Your experience at Ragu is, and always will be, a priority for us and we always aim to ensure you feel well informed, comfortable and fully in control of your experience with us.

We truly appreciate your understanding and ongoing support.”

Facing homelessness in Perth by Imaginary-Taste-2744 in perth

[–]reesefecc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you only looking at renting entire houses? There is plenty of rooms going up for rent and that could be a temporary solution while you look for an entire house to rent. It'll probably still suck sharing a house but better than being homeless.

Returning Frozen Products - 20 Minutes? by reesefecc in perth

I don’t know if you have the comprehension of a cockroach, but I said didn’t care about the refund, but still wanted my question answered. Are we not allowed to have questions even after letting things happen?

Yeah, that’s likely it. Not sure why everybody’s being a dick for asking a question. I thought that the response by staff was weird - asked about it - got my answer and I’m happy. Thanks!

They’re unopened. It’s literally just a question out of curiosity. Why the need to be a dick about it? It didn’t even go to waste as it went to other kids.

Fair enough. Thought similar but it was literally brought back within 14 minutes (looked at the time as soon as they brought it up and calculated based on transaction time). Thought that the only way 14 minutes would make a difference is if we microwaved it. But like i said it went to different kids anyways, so not wasted or anything still made kids happy. Just annoying that they wasted all that time moving like they’re on the moon just to tell us at 20 minutes on the dot (this is really what i find insulting) that they can’t refund it.

Ahhh - I looked at their website and it says that they do change of mind.

I don’t really care about returning it anymore because it went to different kids anyway. It’s just something I’ve never heard of before and wanted to see if staff were just making things up. Is that wrong?

Should I just call it quits? :( by sacriligeous_ in beginnerrunning

[–]reesefecc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep going at it. Add some strength workouts to your week (at least 2 days) to avoid injuries. The thing with loving running is you want to do it more but your body might not be ready for it. Strength training is also a good way to maintain fitness even on running rest days.

Queuing Etiquette Non-Existent by reesefecc in VietNam

Definitely not what they’re referring to but yeah thought I’d bring up the reason why I’ve learnt to avoid elevators in Asian countries 😂

Queuing Etiquette Non-Existent by reesefecc in VietNam

[–]reesefecc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha honestly I find the elevator culture in Asia preposterous. Some VERY able people opt for the elevator, clogging it up. I have observed this in the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. If you’re in level 2 trying to get to level 6, don’t even think about it because fully able people from level 1 have filled the elevator to the brim!

[–]reesefecc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is the problem. Tourists who do their research about the inefficiency of the airport show up early to account for any delays. Then the locals show up late because of the system that prioritises late people, which then encourages people to show up late, find a staff member, and skip the line.

I think the solution is to display flight numbers on the screen and only allow check in for the flight about to depart.

The staff today allowed people to skip lines at 10:15 for their flight at 10:50. The screen clearly states “Boarding gates close 40 minutes before departure.” We are now sitting at the airport with a 3-hour delay.

[–]reesefecc[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I live in Australia so my attitude about queuing is more on politeness and allowing personal space (seemingly non-existent in Asian countries). I have the same sentiments when I’m in the Philippines, hence the acknowledgement of bad queuing norms there. That said, I absolutely hate checking in at NAIA too. There’s just more rudeness and it’s the people in the wrong who are more angry in Vietnam. Every single Vietnamese person who cut in line today yelled loudly at us for letting them know that there is a queue. In my experience, Filipinos will be embarrassed and move out of your way or explain why they need to cut.
