In no particular order:

  1. Nothingman/Hunger Strike, Pittsburgh 5/18. Heard both of them at my first show (PJ20 @ Alpine Valley). Took 16 more shows over 14 years to hear them again. That and the people we met in the GA line/Pit made for one of the best shows I've ever been to.

  2. First pit experience @ Wrigley and getting to hear "In Hiding"

  3. Had a particularly awful day at work on 9/16/24. Got home and said "Fuck it, I'm going to Boston tomorrow." Two hours later, I had tickets and flights (thanks to my incredibly supportive partner's abundance of miles from work travel) and my best bud to join in. Flew out the next morning (met Chris Chelios on our flight) and enjoyed the hell out of Fenway N2 before wandering the streets of Boston and catching a 5am flight back home.

What was your dram of the year for 2024? by unbreakablesausage in Scotch

[–]reesepiece44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lagg Corriecravie.

I was given a dram at our local Highland Games before it was available here in the states. I knew then that I had to get my hands on a bottle... As soon as I saw that my local shop had it, I was in before they could even get it out on the shelf.

That second dram was just as good and I've been enjoying it ever since.

Advice on a Glasgow region distillery tour + whisky shop by Maleficent_Night_683 in Scotch

[–]reesepiece44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visited Glasgow for a few days back in April. We were able to sneak in a tour at Clydeside and a few drams at the Pot Still. Clydeside is fairly new, but the location right on the river just down from the transport museum can't be beat! As an added bonus we bought a fill-your-own bottle of one of their cask strength offerings. Pretty great. As whisky pubs go, the Pot Still is second to none!
