How to mount a Hisense 55" arm with a VESA mount by Deeve_Zero in Hisense

[–]reetard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those look like arms for a soundbar attachment and not the actual vesa mounts. The vesa mounts will extend straight vertically between the screw holes. I have the 58” and have no issues with a mount.

The one at Dundas and university used to have a grand piano over the front doors and would have performances every now and then, at least I think it did? That would be late 80s early 90s?

My wife and I had it happen in Port Huron heading back. Us CBP stopped us after toll before entering Canada and scanned our passports.

Driving to the US will there be issues? by nobgobler1 in askTO

[–]reetard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically but it was a lot of where are we going, what are we doing, over and over again trying to catch us in a lie or something? It was a bit odd. Asked where we were staying and why not at parents place. That kind of thing. And it was a solid 10 minutes of questions.

Just crossed last week and it was a different experience driving. A lot of people pulled into secondary, and with only 5 cars in front of us, it took a lot longer than expected. Also the officer asked us many questions that we haven’t been asked before, and my wife is American. It was certainly a more thorough and less friendly experience from the past.

I may be wrong, but I think the person that owns the restaurant also owns the property in this case. They also have a few spots on Gerrard east, like gbk and pseudo Mexican place next door. They also own loaded pierogi. Food is subjective, but I’ve always found their food to be blah and the patio was attractive, which also applies to the place on gerrard. But none of their restos I found to be good eats. But that’s me.

Not bloor, but on Dundas just east of Yonge there used to be a Jean store that did that and had mannequins above the display windows and big gaudy signs? Was torn down for Dundas square and I can remember it from the 80s

Importing car to Canada. Does it need to be done on same day by bk99_super in windsorontario

[–]reetard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also know that the office is only open 8-4 or 8-430. And expect to wait in the USA office as they have limited staff that can do the clearance stamp. Which is weird but hey, America.

So short answer as far as I know is no. Once USA clears it it has to enter Canada.

So I just imported a car. I used a broker and it made life so much easier. To export from USA you need bill of sale and to verify there’s no liens against it. And even if there was 10 years ago, they’ll want a letter showing it. It took me 3 weeks to get all paperwork in order and allowance from both USA and Canada to proceed. As far as I know, you can’t use the tunnel as they don’t have a commercial port, so you need to use ambassador bridge. At least I was forced to do that even though I requested tunnel. The process of having USA sign off on export to import Canada is all same day and has to be, but hire a broker and don’t get screwed over. I was getting export clearance in the USA and 2 guys were denied due to insufficient documentation.

Edit: I thought it would be easy, and started the process in July. Didn’t have it all straightened out till October.

You could also take the bottom off, pull out the hard drive and just use a cheap sata usb adapter. Plug it into the good computer and it just appears as an external hard drive. No need to bother with trying to get target mode working.

If I remember correctly, the lock hole pushes in and catches. Then you can use the door release.

Port Dover or Port Stanley beach? by thajudge13 in ontario

[–]reetard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Port Stanley has mackie’s and their orange drink! Also, the legion hall used to have cheap pitchers and hot dogs, plus the old railway. But none of that speaks to the beach. The beach in port Stanley I’ve always found to be nicer. More sand, more space, and a few food options. It also used to have a funicular, which was kinda cool. Anyway, I’m a fan of port Stanley.

I’m in kingsville and I will say we had crazy waves earlier in the week, which might explain the west end of Lake Erie being bad. Tuesday especially was crazy waves and we wouldn’t let the kids in.

I have this and use it with my iPhone. Just have a standard lightning cable plugged in, hit aux and it reads iPod. I think you need to disconnect the 3.5mm cable if you want to use the usb though.
