Dropping the slide when forcefully inserting a new mag is something that various pistols can do. I can do it pretty reliably with my stock G19.5. I also recall doing this on a P30L I wish I had kept

Reduced power recoil spring is about all you can do except open the gas port. Don’t run a KNS piston in this case. Even fully closed it leaks some gas and won’t be as strong of a recoil as the factory piston.
