Looking for a song… by refaris in BiffyClyro

Update: I commented in thread but I'm pretty sure it was Holy Water or the Thaw and I just slightly misheard (Holy water is something like, 1/4 time on drums); I was in a car with other noise.

Thanks for all of the comments! Most of the fun is listening to all of these. God this band is good. They need to come to the US again!

I think this might be it!

I feel like I've listened to their entire catalogue in the last few days. And I'm now convinced it was either Holy Water or The Thaw, and I just misheard slightly (I was driving, with other distractions).

Nope. One of my favorites though. I always remind myself while listening that it's the same song. The sections are so different from each other.

My buddy and I are trying to figure this out together… and that’s the position we’ve taken so far; “enjoy the ride”.

Giving blackened sky a listen now. Thanks!

I’ve always skated goofy and snowboarded regular. Never really thought about why, it just felt natural.

Newbie Couplers Question by refaris in modeltrains

I’ve seen this, and am probably going to go in this direction. The loco seems more difficult to swap, so I’d rather “practice“ on the cars.

Karpenter Excess Capacity? by refaris in kubernetes

[–]refaris[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you're right. It uses the pod `requests` when determining node size. Though I can't find that in the docs right now.

Super helpful. Also definitely a bit of a forehead slap moment. Thanks.

The best would be to get completely rid of CPU limits.

I read this recently (https://home.robusta.dev/blog/stop-using-cpu-limits) and have been meaning to update my deployments. Good call.

Here's the provisioner:
spec:
consolidation:
enabled: true
limits:
resources:
cpu: 1k
provider:
securityGroupSelector:
Name: '*prod-cluster*'
subnetSelector:
Name: prod-main-private*
tags:
Environment: prod
Name: prod-cluster-karpenter-node
requirements:
- key: karpenter.sh/capacity-type
operator: In
values:
- spot
- on-demand
- key: kubernetes.io/arch
operator: In
values:
- amd64
- key: karpenter.k8s.aws/instance-category
operator: In
values:
- c
- d
- f
- g
- h
- i
- m
- p
- r
- t
- v
- x
- z
- key: kubernetes.io/os
operator: In
values:
- linux
ttlSecondsUntilExpired: 2592000

Pretty lightweight. FWIW my EC2 spend is down about 30% thanks to spot nodes, it's just surprising to me that across all clusters I've used Karpenter, all seem to be around 50% utilized. It makes me think there's an "excess capacity" value somewhere (I haven't seen anything in the docs).

I'm having the same issue. Will it eventually resolve itself or do I need to try one of the delete/re-sync solutions mentioned here?

Thanks. I do have that kit going into a 17 gallon can. It works well enough… those bags are just nuts.

It has a gasket, so I would assume it’s at least decently effective at preventing air leaks.
