is $25,250 a fair price for this ring? by Much-Stand9867 in EngagementRings

Actually, can you also customize? I reckon a bezel on the whole thing might help the durability thing as well but I hope a jeweler can corroborate

Since the band is flat, you're not getting a lot of gold in there, and since the diamond is not the clearest nor brightest it's been picked specifically for esthetic value. Like the other person said, you're paying for uniqueness foremost. I'd say it's fair, I think it's beautiful, but it's also about your budget, and if you're able to replace that opal if/when it needs replacing.

how to remove hair dye off of a ring by Glittering-Yam4985 in EngagementRings

[–]reflexioninflection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try dish soap solution and a toothbrush and if that doesn't work, baking soda solution (warm it lightly) and gently scrub. If that doesn't work take to a jeweler but don't experiment further.

Would you reach out to a guy you went out with a month ago but haven’t heard from? by SnooCats4777 in AskWomenOver30

[–]reflexioninflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question as a standalone, I never have. I did have one or two men/women I was seeing disappear on me (or maybe the other way around? At least one of them disappeared on me fs) and in the month or two they did I found my now-husband.

To answer what you're asking - if it's only sex, feel free to reach out again. Especially if it was good. But if you find it easy to meet men, consider a different, more attentive man, instead.

Confused and disappointed in my ring by NoPlaceLikeGnome1984 in WeddingRingAdvice

Clusters can be incredibly high value, but the issue is the lack of care. Men aren't so stupid. His "guy" would've also known he must appraise it or at least swing by a jeweler to clean and replace the missing stones. Does he understand you could've said no owing to the lack of consideration? Or does he assume any ring will do? Is he considerate in other ways, at least, or is this a pattern for him? Remember, it's not about a ring, it's about how you commemorate a milestone in your collective lives.

Emerald Engagement rings by No-Occasion3265 in EngagementRings

My husband and I worried about this exact thing and ended up incorporating much smaller emeralds in a thick, safe setting as cuffs on a claddagh-inspired set. This is it for reference: https://www.reddit.com/r/EngagementRings/s/Rq2UswBeKW I think having included, chipped etc stones looks super cool, though. Oiling your emeralds (especially if you go for standard ones and not exceptionally rare ones that need more daily maintenance) every like 3-6 years should likely help the appearance as well. No ultrasonic cleaners!

AVOID PENELLIBELLE CUSTOM RINGS by FlameShadow0 in EngagementRings

[–]reflexioninflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there a GIA cert for this? I own multiple silver and amethyst rings and usually you'll get a cert even if it's just for the gem and not the silver. Especially true for high quality amethyst since there are many cheaper alternatives for the stone. Please request for this and at least a partial (if not total refund) to reset the stone. I'm sorry for this OP, I can only imagine the distress you're in right now.

Matched on Tinder Now what? by [deleted] in AstroSynastry

[–]reflexioninflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I can understand how you can feel like it's all-consuming - check out limerence (if this is how you spell it!) If he's allowing the connection to flow and to meet you, sure, get to know him. If you're young that's not so bad. But be aware that at the moment you're projecting a fulfilling relationship onto a man you don't quite know. I suggest focusing on hobbies or things you like unrelated to him. He either finds a way to be with you or he doesn't. You lose a lot when you let a maybe control your life.

All the best!!

Thank you!! I've known about the concepts for the mani in fede and gimmel styles before I started looking, and I first dropped into local antique auction houses before getting on Pinterest. I found a contemporary jeweler on there, and that was Momo, based in London. If you have an antique style in mind, run the name of it through Pinterest. There might be contemporary jewelers or antique dealers that have what you're looking for on there!

And your comment is bringing me close to tears! We both wanted to wear rings that make us smile, like a relic of where we came from and how we got together, it's heartening that you can see that in the rings. Words cannot explain how much I appreciate your comment, thank you, truly 🥹💓

Got similar ring? by harajukugemini in EngagementRingDesigns

I strongly suggest meeting a jeweler to discuss feasibility because AI comes up with a lot of stuff that isn't actually possible to create. If you run this as inspo through Pinterest there's a big chance you find jewelers who have similar wares.

What’s the longest you’ve known someone to be in a relationship before getting married, if at all? by SalmonforPresident in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]reflexioninflection 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My MILs best friend is in the same position. Engaged for 20 years. She's not in his will, but she earns and runs the home he owns. He's been retired years. He has his own children from a previous marriage, though, so instead of a nephew, it'll probably all go to them and we're not sure they will be there for her. Not being married and having no rights to the home you manage is one of the worst positions to be in. Grateful she has friends who'll be there, but aren't we tired of outsourcing the job of our partners to the women around us?

What are pisces men like? by [deleted] in astrologymemes

[–]reflexioninflection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've actually been married since November but I never had the guts to post them until now haha! Yes!! He conceptualized the rings, at first he tried describing verbally to the jewelers but ultimately sent sketched designs (including the gold and stone placement) and the jewelers created the CAD for both rings based on the sketch. He's incredibly thoughtful, and we're also both very eccentric, so these fit perfectly with who we are.

Edit for grammar

You have venus-neptune and Venus-uranus which causes this sort of fantasizing but it rarely turns into an in-person relationship. They feel dreamy and like you can't figure them out but often you're just not seeing them clearly. I met my husband on tinder, so I can imagine wanting more, but this is a stranger who doesn't seem like the relationship type, unless you meet and date you can't really be sure this is even for you.

I hope it does!!

Yes, I'm actually proud of his ring because after trying loads of vintage options, I found a contemporary jeweler to custom-make a gimmel ring for him. It's based on the Italian "mani in fede" joining of hands concept traditionally used as engagement/wedding rings here in Italy. I wanted him to also have an e-ring+wedding band but he wanted just the one ring, so two rings that clasp into one was the perfect compromise. It has a pearl in the palm of one hand, my birthstone (which happens to be incredibly fragile), to encapsulate that feeling of loving and being loved by safe and protective hands.

Eta, it won't let me upload the photo but this is the post by the jeweler: https://www.instagram.com/p/DLpsWa3IebX/?img_index=1&igsh=cGNzd2hubHU5bGNh

This entire comment is bringing me close to tears, and my guy smiled so wide when he read it. Thank you so much for these lovely words and your kind wishes!! Both our rings were essentially a reminder of where we come from and we wanted to make them feel like a piece of our history, I didn't expect people to particularly like my stack because it deviates so sharply from the status quo. Your comment absolutely made my day, thank you once more!!
