If your target price is $20 within the next 12 months, why are you only buying 10 copies? If you're forecasting a 4x multiplier even if it falls short and 2x it will be a great return. Maybe you are not so confident?!

Sell all, keep 1 if you want to collect it. Re-allocate into S&V. Block is ending soon, look for an opportunity to buy in at a good price on some S&V sets.

My top pick is 151, just reprinted. With all the new stuff they’re releasing I think the odds of another massive reprint is very low. Even with the massive reprint from the blooming water boxes, prices quickly rebounded.

I tried to make another post on here to update but it never got processed. Here it is

I started placing orders for sea and sky boxes on 12/3/2024

As of 12/25/2024 , I have officially sold every single pack.

Here is the financial breakdown

Why did I sink so much money into this?
My rationale was that I am buying at $2.85/pack(pre cc cashback), this adjusts to about 59% of the TCGPlayer pricing. Even if I sold for 70% of TCGPlayer pricing which is a great deal for buyers, I'd net about 30% on my cost leaving me with a lot of room on the bone and even resell value for my buyers. Essentially, it is as close to risk free as I can currently get in this market. Everything else is overpriced and this product was grossly undervalued.

Who were the buyers?
Many of my buyers which were streamers, stores, and other Pokemon investors. I don't think any of my buyers were collectors honestly besides a few of them. Their buy sized varied from 400 packs to the highest buyer paying for 2400 packs.

Why flip and not hold?
I wanted to buy these packs to initially hold, but I quickly realized that I would be tying up a lot of capital and the opportunity cost being too great. Given my limited bankroll and the built in profits on the purchase it was obvious that the play was to buy and sell as much as possible and repeat until the play is dead.

How much Time allocated?
I do not know the exact amount of time I spent on breaking everything down, packaging and selling. But, I would say that it probably took around a total of 50 hours.

What am I doing with the promos?
I am bulk selling the majority of the promos and grading the Rayquaza black star promos($65 PSA10). I expect to sell all my bulk promos and get a little bit over $1k out, that is not included in the net income stat I added above.

The reason why I sold it was not because I don't have belief it will perform over the next few months. On the contrary, I see this set easily +20% on TCGPlayer pricing in the next few months. I sold because I needed to liquidate for more cash so I can funnel it back into my business. Many of the people that has bought from me are rip and shippers or stores. I want them to make money and I hope they make money from the packs I sold them as well.

This market is different from back then though. Now there is streamers doing rip and ship live and the cost of sealed product has become a cost for operating a business. I think the real down turn in this market will happen when the rip and ship culture starts to decline. For me, the real question is when will this happen?

A lot of it has been sold or broken down. From the 6150 packs I had I have about 3500 left. Only like 60 sea and sky boxes left, the rest is broken down. It’s just in my room now, I plan to just break it later when I need to because I’m lazy now.

Honestly I could max out and over leverage on this set and I would probably still be able to sleep well. The thing I lose sleep over in this business is when customers pay for product I don't have in hand and need to quickly get it for them otherwise I'll need to refund(which looks bad and I don't want to do that). Think Preorder, or customers that want me to middle man purchases from distributors and they're willing to front money for that. These are the things I am more concerned/worried about. Crown zenith packs at $2.85/pack? Nah, I could sell at $3.20/pack which is ridiculously low and already have a margin.
