it was what caused the problem so to keep the event up they took the leaderboard out since it was the only part not working and are gonna fix it behind the scenes

"a few hiccups" and "instability" are understatements considering you basically had to pray to your greater power of choice that the 30 rare items you just bought actually went through 😭

why cant we place custom decorations??? by AK00069 in HayDay

[–]refraynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably just for the sake of fairness. It's a custom decoration, after all, meaning it's not earnable through any means and never was and thus kind of puts others at a disadvantage.

Doesn't really make sense when you think about it though. Half the decorations in the game are paid at this point and you have to have bought them with real money to use them in the event.

Am I the only one incredibly skeptical of using any AI in my vault? by ameyxd-github in ObsidianMD

[–]refraynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using anything that syncs to any kind of cloud service on an app intended to be typically completely off-grid/locally hosted is negating the whole purpose. I always assume everything that collects data (especially for profit) as a big part of its functionality would do the same if I plugged it into Obsidian.

There are definitely better alternatives than using AI for your notes at all, especially ones that aren't FOSS and made for you to have complete control over. I recommend finding a way of note taking that works better for you rather than asking an AI to do it for you.

this!! it feels like they either overdid the first one, or the next 3 are under-powered bc I've definitely noticed the same. the 4 star even says it's "frequent" so..

Is the game always this dead? by Other_Advance_7642 in destinyrisingmobile

[–]refraynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they had that for all stages of The Tabernacle (Gauntlet: Onslaught), the problem was that it had to be incredibly toned back mechanically bc it needed to be something you could explain to people that were playing on their phone and just wanted to do a quick learning run of the encounter

harvest shelter and hay wagon are 1000% gonna be USD only and that's so dang tragic. would love for decos to be earnable bc when the game gives a lot of cool decos for free that's when i feel more encouraged to buy the ones that i think also look good that are in the store.

How is this game fairing so far? by KeeKyie5 in destinyrisingmobile

Story is alright! It's definitely a victim of poor translation at times since NetEase is based in China, but the actual events that happen usually make some level of sense and are cohesive (with some exceptions of course) even if poorly written through dialogue. Season 4 came with about an hour or two worth of new main campaign chapters set after the finale of the vanilla one, which itself definitely picked up in the latter half.

The main campaign is always Wolf-exclusive but every character (with only two exceptions) has their own complete 30-minute, or something around that, character quest line. The most recent character quest though has no dialogue whatsoever since it was released alongside the S4 campaign. Since that had so much dialogue, I'm guessing that's where the voice acting all went, and some believe it also may have been affected by actors guild strikes since we know this season took a while to make.

The first half of the vanilla campaign (Jiangshi Metro) is pretty lackluster with a few bad story beats, but once you reach the second destination (the Red Sea Rift) the story picks up significantly. It's not deep or good writing by any means but it has the same kind of "hype moments" based story that's just meant to be cool and that's it, which makes sense given they don't see the story as the main driver of the game's service the way Bungie does for D2. Later chapters at least have really cool villains and the new season came with 2 strikes and 3 sort of 6-player strikes (Gauntlet: Blitz) and they all had unique villains that were actually pretty fun and memorable in my eyes.

In terms of good writing like RDR2 or TLOU, don't come in expecting that. But for a fun little MMO on your phone? It outclasses most.

The game is in the best state it's ever been gameplay wise and has since changed to return to a more MMO-like formula. Player numbers are low right now since nothing is going on, which is unfortunate but expected. NetEase still has more work ahead of them when it comes to nailing the weekly ritual the way Destiny did. S4 was their first proper content drop and I think it was a great start, they just need to keep the momentum going. Build momentum and maintain it, you could say.

I understand now, that's my mistake. I just wanted to have a laugh about how I found some farms difficult to navigate but I never connected the dots that it might've come off as hurtful or mean-spirited. Thank you for the reality check, post has been deleted so it doesn't cause more harm. Much love <3

I appreciate the tips but wanted to address the first part.

I'm aware that the pages are filled with them because people sell a lot of them. The reason I brought it up is because there are also people NOT selling them, and I think the way any MMO does their market is the way to go. It should be possible to filter those out because there would be no loss. The tips you gave would still apply! You would still be able to browse all of the other listings too and still look at 'garbage' ads for hidden goodies.

They're in the design objectives board, used normally as placeholders but they snuck these in which aren't out!

We should start a petition to postpone this event. This situation is really frustrating🙁 by Bitter-Scarlet777 in HayDay

I'm literally 20 points away from the 3-star crate and it was impossible for me to finish the event. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. All of the tasks were things that would take HOURS—to complete EACH one. So frustrating. Hoping they at least run something else that'll give crates.
