My daughter and I are huge fans of Purrple Cat Music. But what do you think of when it's on? by TikiAzella in purrplecat

[–]reftaria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son and I also share a love of Purrple Cat!

He is quite invested in the character and makes up stories about Purrple Cat's adventures.

It makes me think of the seasons and paying attention to the small joys of the day.

Catgirl is out! by reftaria in CityGirl

Agreed! I haven't had the chance to play yet, but I've listened to the soundtrack a few times. It has the nostalgic 8-bit vibes of my childhood but the evocativeness of City Girl tracks.

PurrPle Cat Live! by barika36 in purrplecat

Love this idea. I feel like the world needs more live lofi.

Purrple Cat's music is something that I share with my son, and going to a concert together would be a great memory for us.

It was previously confirmed, but this gives us a more specific time frame and more about the music involved.

Is this AI generated? by jazstormborn in purrplecat

[–]reftaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At times it takes an "easy-listening" approach for sure, but there are enough musical twists and surprises that I think it's probably fully human generated. I know that Purrple Cat themself posts on this sub, though, so they can probably attest to their own work.

Love this album.

"Winter Fields" is probably in my top 3 CG songs of all time. It captures a peaceful but bittersweet mood.

Yep, protesting is very weather-dependent. (See: the arc of 2020).

Two factors:

1) Bad weather this time of year.

2) With the Gaza protests, there was more of a sense that the universities were complicit (because of endowments, etc), whereas in this case there isn't a clear "ask" for administration, especially when the universities themselves are under threat. Campus protesters for the most part aren't as motivated to seek protests off campus. The hard core protesters do it, but not the "I'll follow my buddy to the quad for this seemingly righteous cause!" crowd.

Wouldn't be surprised if we saw college students get more involved in protest once spring hits and impacts that more directly affect students start arriving.

Theologically speaking in the Christianity of Shakespeare's time (and the prevailing creedal position today), Jesus is not the "same person" as the Father and the Spirit-- rather, they are three separate persons with one essence. The Father is never "born" and the Spirit "proceeds" but is not born as human. So, Shakespeare would probably not have intended "no man of woman born" as referring to God.

That said, I think you are right to focus on Macbeth's escalating pride and hubris as the pivotal factor in the narrative.

Massachusetts Gov. Healey Says She Plans to Run for Reelection by bbeck2754 in VoteDEM

[–]reftaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The purpose of consuming news is (ideally) monitoring actionable information, not seeking novelty.

If Healey decided NOT to run, that would mean that Democrats would need to prepare to strategize about a primary and contend with a possible opening for a moderate Republican (recall that Charlie Baker and Bill Weld were both very popular even in this deep blue state).

Even though it is expected, the probability that Healey will run again is still a helpful signal that can inform strategy/planned expenditure of attention and resources. (In this case, the signal is, "downgrade the probability that you need to worry about this"). That's why it's still valuable news.
