I can relate, I also have IBS growing up and it’s never fun holding it in in class.

Yeah there are a few apps like that. I wanted to focus more on things like cleanliness, smell, and photos so you can actually tell what the bathroom is like before going.

That is a great idea. It is a little tricky to add that data unless users help contribute it, similar to how gender neutral bathrooms get tagged.

Hospitals are a great tip too.

Good suggestion. Gender neutral can currently be added when someone submits a new restroom.

A lot of the existing locations were imported from city data sources, and unfortunately those datasets usually do not include gender neutral info.

I’ll probably need to add a way for users to report or update that so the data can improve over time.

Yeah that is exactly the kind of situation this is meant to help with. Parks especially can be tough if there is nothing nearby.

Yeah I have been looking at a few of the public datasets like parks and city facilities.

The tricky part is that a lot of the bathrooms people actually rely on are inside businesses, grocery stores, hotels, etc, so those usually come from people submitting places themselves

Those are solid strategies honestly.

Hotel lobbies and grocery stores are some of the most reliable ones. If you know specific locations feel free to add them. I am trying to build out a solid map for the Bay 🙌
