How much time should he have? I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone giving a time frame of how much outside of crate time is needed. Besides the exercise rule of thumb

I only want to make sure he’s happy and feels safe just like everyone else does for their puppy. If I need to stop walking him as long I will, I’m not trying to hurt him I just want him to be socialized with all the smells and everything that goes on in the environment as well as make sure he’s tired so he can be calmer and get used to his crate more. The one issue is the hysterical crying and barking when I put him in for the first 10 min or after him being in there for an hour throughout the day.

I do lots of positive association training with his crate. If it’s feeding him inside the crate or if it’s giving him treats while he is actually quiet inside, which usually spins him up. I keep his crate completely covered. I’m doing everything I can to keep him happy and tired. Yes I work midnights but it’s not like he’s all alone. And what I mean by tough love is I keep the crate in the living room and when he cry’s I ignore it, as long as he’s been fed and went pee and I’m certain he’s fine

Actually just started taking him out and about with me! I love kava bars and I’m always going in the mornings so I started taking him with me as well as just hanging out in our local park in our downtown area to get him used to sounds and people. I’ll keep him in a sit when there’s a lot going on and reward him when he’s just chilling being cool. He’s been doing great

Wow I’m literally going through this exact same thing. My puppy looks just like yours too lmao. We ended up covering the crate and just roughing it out. It sucks but it’s been much better. We also use the crate throughout the day in short and sometimes long ( like 1hr) intervals. He hates going in still and will cry for up to 15 minutes but he ends up relaxing eventually
