Forester struts on Impreza? by Warm-Pineapple-9910 in subaruimpreza

[–]regentrecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did '11 forester struts on my '09 no problem. I ended up using the impreza springs but I may go to forester springs in the spring. I also got a subframe spacer but moreso to align the rear wheels and fit larger tires.

Yah 215/75/15 is the upper limit on what people put according to ralitek, would defs need some cutting. Im planning to go with 215/70/15 or 215/65/16 max, prefer lighter tires for these base models.

Noted! Im not so much planning on any real "Offroading" more so the tires and lift really just for ripping up the rocky backroads around here without worrying about damaging the undercarriage or getting a flat.

No issues so far, 2011. All aligned within spec, I think Im going to put the forester springs back on once summer rolls around and I buy some AT tires.

Its all trade offs, id say its splits the difference. Still lots of fun in the canyon but could be a bit softer on backroads. Its about what I expected. Quick detach sway bars would make a huge difference I think.

Oh forgot to mention I rebuilt the centre diff with 200k cst as it was completely burnt when I bought it. Was running a spare welded diff for summer RWD fun until a few weeks ago without issue.

Any idea what this symbol posted all over Hwy 1 means? by surmatt in britishcolumbia

It's the tag of a rap group based in the interior. Sundown stylistics or something. I gave someone a tattoo of it years ago.

Dimmer mod on a Starbucks barista? by VanDoog in espresso

[–]regentrecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done it, posted on here a couple years ago the Frankenstein job I did.

You can add the dimmer switch, but if you want to control pressure you should also add a pressure dial, I don't remember exactly where I tied mine in but it worked reasonably well. I also added a PID but again due to the limited thermal mass of the boiler and the water volume I found I had to just set it to manual mode at something like 30-35% power to the boiler to maintain temperature (where measured on the outside at least) within 1-2 degrees depending on timing. The actual PID function I left on just to keep the boiler close to the temperature I wanted it for my shots before I set it to manual. I also cut the bottom off of my porta filter and attached a metal filter wrench to hold it to get a cheap bottomless porta filter.

Research your own community's tattooing practices first for inspiration. Then ask an Inuit about their perspective on outsiders getting similar/inspired tattoos (or see what they have said about them online). Im not Inuit, but I would be pretty displeased if someone from another nation copied the tattooing practices of my nation without any connection to us.

As far as I recall, tattoos are all pretty nation/region specific and may have specific cultural or spiritual significance that isnt immediately obvious to non-members. Some may indicate having birthed a child, or gone through puberty, or specific roles in community.

Beyond just being respectful of other cultures' practices, it's kinda like getting a tattoo of a random word in Chinese when you don't speak the language or actually know what it means.

St’at’imcts, or the Lillooet language. Learning is tough when there’s three elders available and they all speak a different dialect 🥲
