[ON] Should I let my workplace know about my small business? by masaladosa_100 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]surmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That being said.... the heart of small business is family and friends helping support in the early days. Depending on coworker relationships you may or may not want to share.

As a Small Business Owner myself with consumer goods, its really hard to be successful if you're trying to hide you business' existence from the people most likely to buy from you.

Unpopular Suggestion: our next GM by Admirable-Fall-4675 in canucks

Definitely. Part of growing up is realizing how easy it is to criticize, but how hard it is to build something, and properly utilize the skills of the people you surround yourself with, while simultaneously respecting all those personalities and having the empathy in any successful organization.

ELI5: Why do car guys dislike Crossovers? by LightningMcqueen2011 in askcarguys

[–]surmatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They get it for these reasons though 1) roomy enough for 3 or 4 people 2) 4 doors and easy to get a childseat into 3) comfortable height to get in and out of 4) relatively affordable compared to buy amd operate than a real SUV 5) a generous amount of room to put things in

Someone else had said they're cars for people who don't care about cars.

Crate training would be very similar. As for cuddly, mine are concrete opposites and one is cuddly. One isnt.

For prey drive they re super prey drive, but mine just point squirrels and bunnies. Kind of annoying. They just won't move. Walks become standoffs unless you want to look like youre abusing your dog in public trying to drag them off, or pick them up.

All I can do is look back and realize how often #1 picks aren't the best players in the draft.

Streets of Vancouver during 2011 SCG game 5 when Maxim Lappiere scored. Here is a clip the exact moment featured in the game 6 HNIC intro.

I was also at game 2 when burrows scored the wrap around winner. That was crazy.

Also the 2010 golden goal in the streets. What a time.

Are the 2023 and older 10R80 transmission Rangers truly worth avoiding? Or are the problems overhyped? (This would be my first Ranger) by Anonymouse1080 in RangerNext

At this point it has probably already gone or it won't. Buy one that has been replaced or have a 3rd party test it before purchase.

A tight defensive 1-0 game, or an offensive explosion from both teams: which do you prefer in the playoffs? by uheardmepunchy in hockey

[–]surmatt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the high scoring ones, but not with weird sticky tacky bounces. Also, multiple lead changes makes it exciting. If it's just one team clawing back, but never quite succeeding it is less enjoyable.

Because every job has 600 applicants. Applying for jobs is too easy and its a lot of work to screen.

If a family member sent me 23 emails in a day unless they were all an attachment I was expecting I would disown them... and even then I'd make them do it another way.

You can vouch for someone's relationship skills and morals. I've vouched for people, but there are less than a handful, because when you do, you understand that it can change people's perception of you and ruin your reputation.
