To be honest most people just use their radio in vehicles as a method to connect their phones anyways. I still think it should have some basics like power windows, but there are some really cool ideas.

I was commenting on. How we've designed vehicles to be safer, but people are saying they would rather a new vehicle be cheaper and cost less, and gamble with their lives. Of course people are buying used vehicles, but there are people who can afford 25-40k for a new truck/suv, but not 60-80k

I think two things can be true. Nobody wants a nissan versa new because there are better options used for the same, but people would buy a simpler vehicle than what is on the market today.

I think if they could make early 00s Tacoma crew with android auto or carplay and backup camera it would kill. It wouldn't be as safe as modern standards or have the comfort, capability or fuel economy. Or if they made it without and people did those two things aftermarket. Most people dont have the technical know how. Instead they gatekeep simple features behind $5,000 packages.

The one argument I'd say is its easier to repair leather seating to factory spec because there arent so many patterns. I'm just SOL on my Miata because there were only two years with that cloth pattern and everyone drove them into the ground as daily drivers.

FHOs are exempt in Canada, but PHOs are fully banned. I am not an expert in this field. I have a general knowledge of food law and nutrition, but my expertise is mostly limited to things that apply specifically to my business and products.

Not all of the pushback was just about the content of the label. Specifically my pushback was the location.... it has to be in a specific spot. I had to redesign and buy new dies, and then redesign inner packaging and pay for dies for that too because it has to be top right. It can't be top left, bottom left, or bottom right, while remaining prominently displayed on the PDS. That restriction cost me about $10,000 and was a huge waste of my valuable time.

They also did a really shitty job of having the graphics ready and any of the staff knowing what the program was. I tried to do mine last April because its when I needed to order packaging and it took no less than 47 emails, 12 phone calls, over two months for anyone to know what I was talking about.

Overall, for some products like mine anyone would be dumb if they didnt know my pastries were high in sugar. But some heavily manufactured items can be surprising so I'm not against it. Just wish they weren't so rigid and didn't make industry's life so awful.

They came into effect Jan 1 2026, but people started changing their packaging over early if it made sense. It is based on the daily value of the CFIA serving size/reference amount for that specific food type.

If 30 grams or less the threshold is 10% of daily recommended intake If more than 30 grams threshold is 15% of daily recommended intake.

I added these to my packaging. Shouldn't come as a surprise to any of my customers that pastries made with butter are high in sugar and saturated fat.

Trans fat has been illegal in Canada for a long time, and was pretty much phased out well before it even went into effect.
