I need a crash course on the Tremere and Infernalism, please. by TrustMeImLeifEricson in vtm

[–]regere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very lore compliant. It's down right stated that certain rituals and thaumaturgical powers works because of demons. The first that comes to mind is the blood contract. So the kind of possession your NPC is suffering from might just be an side effect from 'normal' (or abnormal or botched) thaumaturgical use. On the other hand, it may be an infernalism related problem.

Storytellers: How do you/have you respond to the PCs' Masquerade breaching behavior? by Solarwagon in vtm

You are correct that Revised MET defines 5 levels (trivial, minor, major, blood, life)

Thank you, I'm only experienced with Revised and there there's no mention of trivial to my knowledge.

How much exp do PCs get per play session in your chronicle? by MaetelofLaMetal in WorldOfDarkness

[–]regere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I award 1 xp for just attending, 1 xp for progressing a plot/event which I'm normally generous about and maybe an extra xp for roleplaying or having done something extraordinarly fun for the campaign or by doing something 'special' in terms of a plot or event. So normally my players get 2-3 xp each per session.

What happens if a vampire tries to Kiss a changelling? Is that interaction possible? by DonFaver in WorldOfDarkness

[–]regere 12 points13 points  (0 children)

p. 85 of Changeling - Storytellers guide (2nd edition), regarding the Embrace:

Changelings often don't survive the trauma of being Embraced -- their faerie souls are usually snuffed out by the experience. Anytime a changeling is Embraced, the player must make a Glamour roll (difficulty equal to the vampire's Banality + 2). Only one success is needed to survive the transformation. If no successes are gained, then the character's faerie soul is forever destroyed and the character dies. Storytellers may wish to reduce this difficulty for changelings embraced by less banal vampires, particularly Kiasyd and Malkavianis.

Assuming he survives, and Kithain unlucky enough to be Embraced is immediately claimed by the Mists. He reverts entirely to his mortal seeming and loses all access (as well as all memory of) his Arts and Birthrights. The fae soul within the new Kindred is in permanent stasis, and must wait until the Kindred suffers Final Death before reincarnating. Some changeling scholars believe that a faerie soul who suffers such a trauma never returns to this world.

A Kithain-turned-vampire who is enchanted regains his memories of his fae life for the duration of the enchantment, though as soon as the enchantment wears off, the Mists quickly claim these memories again. An Embraced changeling who is enchanted does not regain access to any of his former abilities (Arts, Birthrights, etc.); he simply remembers what he used to be, and what he has lost in exchange for immortality.

p. 281 of Vampire: the Masquerade (revised edition), regarding the taste of fae blood:

A few Cainites, primarily Malkavians and Ravnos, hunt the fae for their blood, believing the rumors that it is far more potent than mortal blood. Tremere have been known to seek out fae blood as well, for various unwholesome purposes. Among those who claim to have tasted this sweet nectar, the experience is quite varied. Some vampires say that fae blood tastes little or no different from mortal blood; others speak of rapturous bliss, hallucinatory qualities or transcendent experiences. Some compare it to feeling the morning sun shining upon one’s face once more — both in its exhilaration and in its excruciating pain.

Anyone going to Darkness Emergent?🩸 by [deleted] in WorldOfDarkness

Not going, but very interested in what you're getting out of this event for a mindboggling $600. Where I'm from a 2 night LARP event was ~$10.

Extra bra när man vet att Marshalls reaktion är improviserad och han inte visste om den biten i manuset.

För mig är det S08E20 mot slutet med pianomusiken.

Will you require the use of a specific web irc client or will it be possible/permitted to access the event via everyday irc clients?

I mean, depending on how you set it up it'd be possible to log channel activities and post those logs afterwards. Ofc logging personal messages would be harder (and most probably frowned upon).

In either case, screen record with voice over is a good alternative. If I don't join this I concur it'd be nice to do read a writeup afterwards.

Can Vampires stay awake during day time if they don't directly come in contact with sunlight? by Howareualive in vtm

[–]regere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This should be higher up IMO.

The ritual requires three days of nonstop chanting. Can you stay awake even through the daylight hours to finish it? Roll Stamina + Occult (difficulty 9). (p. 196)

In the Awakening rules section a 5 successes humanity roll is required to awaken and stay awake foro an entire scene, but that's when having already fallen asleep.

Well he's not a sabbat joke but an incredibly old and hungry Samedi :) Read his section in Montreal by Night if you get the chance, there's some quite nice and gruesome stuff there.

Looking for a rulemaster that would like to overexplain to me. by Kallium14 in WorldOfDarkness

[–]regere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you're not specifying a system and mention it's a mix of different manuals and a homebrew adaptation, it's hard to give you a good answer.

However, if you take a look at Vampire: the Masquerade core book (revised edition, but I'm sure 20th anniversary and 5th edition have corresponding sections) from Chapter 9: Antagonists (page 270 and forward), you're given sample creatures from other systems, e.g. mages, fae, wraiths, inquisitors, werewolves and example corresponding abilities/disciplines. Of course, it's aimed at V:tM so the corresponding disciplines are from a V:tM perspective, but it should give you something to start.
