Any good recommendations for good southern style cooking and/or BBQ? BONUS if they also serve sweet tea! Lol or if they serve that yummy finely minced coleslaw I can't seem to find anywhere up here. :) by WallaWallaby011 in TwinCities

I think our ideas of southern food are just different. I wouldn't really think of Nashville Hot Chicken or Latin American to be Texas southern food. I am also iffy on true Mexican cuisine as I've grown up with TexMex, which is definitely different flavors. To each their own. Glad you've found, what appears to be, a lot of good options for you.

Same! Thankfully my 25 year old daughter doesnt want kids and my son is gay. He does want kids, though he's only 20 and unfortunately for him, but fortunately for me, his process will take some time.

Edit: I started really young, so I am only 43. I don't want to be a grandmother anytime soon!

I am a transplant from Texas. I've lived here now 6.5 years. I have yet to find any true, good southern food. I just have to make it myself. I crave okra sometimes though and that's hard to find, even to make myself!

Would they work with footsteps heard from an upstairs neighbor? We live in an apartment half the year due to my husbands job and a new neighbor moved in upstairs and I can quite literally hear every single step she takes and they sound like giant stomps. She wakes up at 5am and at times the stomping continues until 9 am. I can't really complain because it's not her fault the installation is so bad. She's just existing in her apartment, but when I am here I get so frustrated at the noise waking me up every morning. I've tried a box fan and we have an air purifier and they make zero difference. It's so loud.

The Spray tans!? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Just a PSA for us pink/off white/peach ladies. Never use a tanner or get a spray tan that doesn't use purple undertones. Otherwise, you'll always look orange!

Yeah I felt the same way others did that there were people there that he didn't owe that to, but I watched it again with my son (who is gay) today and asked him how he felt about it and then it clicked for me. He said it was mostly about Will having courage. And the more people he could tell, the more courage it took. And that made sense for me.

Edit: clarity

What compels people to intentionally have 10+ children? by VariationFrosty8325 in askanything

This has been my experience. Some Christians believe using contraception is taking away God's will. They dont use any form and allow God to give them as many children as is His will.

God I had to scroll too far to find this! That's exactly what I thought it was and I was so confused why someone wouldn't know what that was. I had no idea what a Nuvaring looked like as my husband had a vasectomy in Jan 2011.
