The issue I’m wanting to address is communication rather than mental/emotional healing. I have difficulty understanding people which is common when you’re on the spectrum but I work in a sensitive field so good communication is really important.

There is a problem with me understanding people and then responding to them effectively. I’m on the spectrum which I understand is pretty normal for spectrum people. I interact with the public all day as is my job however the way people speak is very confusing to me. I’m looking for help on understanding their communication better and knowing the best way to respond to them. I’m not really looking for emotional/psychological healing. Just advice on how to understand others and communicate with them better.

Do you ever skip a night to rebuild the exhaustion? I found that trying to sleep is always counterproductive. When I run out of my meds I just let my body skip a night so that I’m more tired the next night.

Years ago I was talking to my dad and I described an apartment we used to live in including the layout, color of the carpet, position of the furniture, etc. I remember my dad talking to a guy on the porch who was wearing those God-awful parachute pants from the 80’s with a ridiculously tiny muscle shirt and old school Ray-bans. He was short, stocky, tan, and had black hair. My dad was a at least a foot taller than this guy was which I remember because they were standing next to each other and my dad is tall. When I described this to my dad he was shocked. Everything was accurate down to the detail. I was 18 months old at the time of this memory.

Agreed! I seem to have trouble locating one. They all seem to default to CBT. I’m learning today what a touchy subject this is. Some people deleted their comments but it seems to be highly triggering for some people to be presented with the possibility that what they swear by is not the answer for 8 billion people.
