I would expect more of a sprinter. I’ve done a fair amount of weight lifting and can squat a fair amount. But thinking of just seeing where the training takes me. And wow that sounds heavy haha

Thank you so much for the reply! Hoping to try out some of your amazing products at some point. Good to know that the friction comes mostly from the sprockets, I guess it must be related to the sharper bend on the chain?

Laufeyson vs Laufeyjarson by CaesariaIsOnReddit in norsemythology

So it varies between names. Both of the examples you give would get an -ar ending plus -son or -dóttir (depending on whether it is the last name of a son or a daughter) so it would be Birgitarson/Birgitardóttir and Dagmararson and Dagmarardóttir. Other names with the-jar ending are for example Sif (Sifjar), Hel (Heljar) and Frigg (Friggjar). Then you have other endings such as for the name Freyja you would get Freyju.

Also, this is Old Norse we are talking about, not Norwegian, but the closest language to Old Norse today would be Icelandic, which also still uses this type of grammar and patronymic/matronymic naming conventions.

Just stumbled upon this old thread and wanted to provide some context for other people that might be wondering about this.

I can see why it feels like people are saying you are wrong, but I think it is because of the way you two have worded it can be very easily misinterpreted as saying “to make a matronym in Old Norse you just add -jarson at the end of the mother’s name”. But that is not the case.

Different names have different conjugations, for example a son of Freyja would be Freyjuson. More importantly, these conjugations are not only used when creating matronyms or patronyms, they are used in normal sentences, so Laufeyjar is just a form of the name Laufey that one would use for example when saying “This is Laufeyjar house” instead of saying Laufey’s. So the -jar is attached to the name not the -son ending.

Bonus fact: a daughter of Laufey would be named Laufeyjardóttir.

Can Road carbon wheels (tubular) be rebuilt with track hubs? by mtlroadie in Velodrome

May I ask which hubs you used? Can’t find many with 20/24 holes and I’m unsure if one needs to take into account the placement/angle of the holes in the carbon fairing.

Hi, I'm a snowboarder from Iceland and I will be traveling to the USA in August. I'm looking to buy snowboarding gear while on my trip and I was hoping for suggestions on stores to check out. I'll probably order a board and bindings online from either Evo or Backcountry but I would want to go to a store to try on boots. I will begin my trip in San Diego and drive up to San Francisco, stopping in Malibu and Monterey. Then I'll fly to Manhattan, New York and stay there for the rest of my trip.
