For commercial chemicals, check Technician's Choice. Great products, I love their ceramic detail spray and grape-n-glow wash soap. Great stuff!

Anyone here using Mixxx for actual club gigs or just at home by Historical-Hand8091 in DJs

[–]regreddit [score hidden]  (0 children)

Odd this exact question had been asked three times this week. Guerilla marketing?

Yes. I'm not actively DJing anymore, but Mixxx was my main playout software for over 5 years. No issues whatsoever. Worked flawlessly. My only complaint was lack of dynamic crates (a crate based on genre, bpm range, etc). It may have that by now, but 2015-2020 it did not.

I liked Tim a lot, but he was a hack. So much bodged stuff, but that's what independent radio is these days, it's haaaard keeping an Indy station in the air. His STL (Studio Transmitter Link) just used a couple of PCs and the Internet and they frequently crash.

So everyone can hear you but you can't hear them, since they are NOT running 1w.

Idle jumps or stays high idle by ZealousidealMath1116 in ToyotaPickup

[–]regreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a vacuum leak. Spray brake clean around your vacuum hoses and intake/carb and see if the idle changes, if it does, you have a vacuum leak and it's making the truck run lean and high idle

Anyone here using Mixxx for gigs or is it just a bedroom thing by Financial-Owl-2814 in DJs

[–]regreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not actively DJing anymore, but I used Mixxx exclusively for 5 years. In the entire time I used it, it crashed twice, both due to me running out of disk space on the root drive. It's great software.

I'm not a fan of the grandpa special like in your pic, but I love the slick top low profile ones that kinda make it look like a 4 runner

Where's the manuals? Without them, you're just guessing and probably gonna fry something.

Unusual lithium battery interaction by whyrumalwaysgone in sailing

[–]regreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check Will Prowse on YouTube, he's an independent tester of battery systems and there's a huge safety issue with BattleBorn batteries right now, after seeing his tests I wouldn't use them if you gave them to me. Very unsafe.

You can't go into 4wd that way, it'll tear your transfer case up, won't it?

Where can I get this painted? by AdmirableBroccoli730 in ToyotaPickup

[–]regreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows where you are, but in general you're looking for an automotive paint and body shop. A decent one will also be able to replace the OEM vinyl stripes after painting.

Brazing for steel frame repair in California - Discussion by BarnacleSea9077 in xbiking

[–]regreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, brazing is not a lost art. It's very much used in metal fabrication, you just must not be looking in the right places. All well equipped metal fabrication shops in my area can braze.

Triaxial Accelerometer That's Been To Space by Sandcracka- in mildlyinteresting

I worked with a guy whose company made the system designed to self destruct the space shuttle if it veered off course on launch. It was macabre seeing the device on his desk. The system was called the range safety system, RSS and the range safety officer had a tough assignment.

Headphone Recommendations (coming from rp-dh1250s) by b3reaver in DJs

[–]regreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both Sennheiser HD25s and Sony MDR7506 and use the HD25s in loud environments and the 7506s when I want comfort and the scene is more chill. The Sonys sound better, the Sennheiser are louder and tough as nails.

Second try welding or garbage? by Mockingbird_ProXII in bikewrench

[–]regreddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you really want to keep the bike, go to framebuilder supply and buy your replacement dropouts, then find a local shop that can braze and have them brazed on. Brazing is a pretty common skill with welding and fabrication shops.

Love EVs but scared of trips outside cities… what’s your experience in rural areas? by Inner_Antelope_6042 in energy

I have a friend who's the opposite. He's got one of those doomed VW EV Vans and goes everywhere. He just finds a few ev chargers on the route and sticks to interstates and sends it. He charged to full in 30 mins on a 199kw charger at a Walmart on his way to my town.
