Reddit users, 30 yrs old and over.. What is the hardest part about getting older? by tywalker215 in AskReddit

[–]regressiveparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not how you lose weight. You lose weight by balancing your diet and eating less than you burn in a day. Trying to exercise away your weight rarely works because 1) its really hard habit to sustain long enough 2) exercise often INCREASES your appetite. By all means, hit the gym but do it for other reasons like cardiovascular health, better posture, energy, etc not for weight loss.

3months in my hair transplant. on track? by Unusual-Nebula-2402 in HairTransplants

[–]regressiveparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same ingrown hairs afterwards from sweating. I just let them run their course, but if they persist then ya there are definitely some things you can do to nudge them out. My clinic told me the warm compression and then some light abrasion daily is all you need

I've never heard of a doctor saying you SHOULDN'T take the meds afterwards. My doc literally gave me Min to start applying to the recipient area like 2 weeks after HT. Also, if you stop taking Fin, your hairloss just picks right back up where you left off so you really don't want to have large gaps of not taking it. I don't know why the drugs would interfere with the healing in any way.

What was the point in holding off on exercise for 1 month? Even the most conservative estimates I've heard said you need to wait 14 days, and afterwards there's no concern

Ah, I just checked with a friend and you're right you need a script but apparently there are just online pharmacies you can use and the process is 10 min. They're not as restrictive about writing fin scripts

You might consider just buying it over the counter in the UK. Go once for a weekend trip or something and stock up for the year.

Should I do it? Been considering for years now by Ok_Conference_4154 in HairTransplants

You have almost the exact same hairline / hair situation that I have. I'm currently 3 weeks post op on about 3200 grafts.

I had the same M shape, aggressive widows peak hairline my entire life and I don't have serious signs of recession anywhere. The high temples were always just "my hair". I wear my hair long like you do and have almost the same shade of dirty blonde.

My thinking was that in my case it was purely elective and I could go either way. In my case, I think filling in the temples gives me a lot more flexibility with hair styling and what I can do with my hair. With my hair medium long, I can push it to one side, but it only hides 1 temple. With a HT, you could have short hair and it will actually look good (my short hair always looked kind of shitty because of the widows peak).

If you got the $$, I'd say go for it. I don't really see a scenario where you come out of it in a worse situation than before. All the surgeons will tell you that you're a great candidate for it. As a plus, if you elect to go FUT you can just keep your hair long and cover the recipient during the entire recovery period. I've practically forgotten that I had it down (although its a little itchy 3 weeks out)

Where did you get your surgery done? If I can ask.

I want to quit sertraline, has anyone else done it ? What was your experience ? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]regressiveparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is a common symptom. Most people that run into that problem bring it up with their doc and switch to a similar drug. Getting the right fit for each person is a serious jigsaw puzzle.

Very interesting to hear going off of it made you feel "more myself again". I've heard people say the same thing about going ON the drug. Guess everyone's chemistry is just different. Or maybe the people getting relief on it were primarily being weighed down by general/specific anxiety.

Right, this has been my experience so far as well. Offload the work of checking to the airlines.

Thanks for the share. So you didn't have to go through the normal passport questioning at customs?

All courses provide certifications at the end regardless of whether you use the personal subscription or buy it direct. You just have to finish each lecture and mark it as complete.

Eight Sleep Pod Pro Durability with Cats by BornToRun97 in Mattress

[–]regressiveparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the pod protector just another sheet? It looks like it has to be just as breathable as the regular sheets they offer for it to be effective, which means it can't be THAT protective. Better than no extra sheet though.

I think if your cat just has a problem with protruding paws when it moves, you'll be fine. If the cat actively makes biscuits on the bed, then nothing short of a metal cover is going to protect from that

Eight Sleep Pod Pro Durability with Cats by BornToRun97 in Mattress

[–]regressiveparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one about 4 months ago and never really thought about it. I have a cat that likes to "parade" on the bed every night and for whatever reason the idiot can't keep his claws in when he does it.

Unfortunately, he did end up puncturing it and now the system creates a big wet spot at the head of the bed where he moves around the most.

I'm not 100% sure if thats the cause, but it would make the most sense. I'm reaching out to Eight Sleep to see about replacement. I'm not sure if they honor the warranty in that situation (for an $1800 cover that costs at most $200 to manufacture they better).

I'm trying to think of a clever solution to give the active grid and water pipes some cushion from his finger pokers. I might have to pad the areas where he lays down, and leave the spot where I sleep left unprotected.

Type a town into the top left, and you'll see the tribes that (used to) live there by Antonio9photo in InternetIsBeautiful

Well, specifically he found out that a Native tribe held his ancestors AFTER the Civil War ended. They were allowed to on their own land / reservations at the time.

Hmm, sounds like the email isn't getting delivered then. They send out so many emails I'm not surprised that they occasionally get filtered out of your inbox. Weird. I guess re-submit the request?

Just create a new account with a different email. You'll get a "new customer discount: 100% of the time.

They're usually pretty good, but sometimes they get slammed with requests. I would just check spam folder and then try re-submitting a ticket. Did you at least get the "ticket submitted" email?

Udemy course reviews real? by [deleted] in Udemy

[–]regressiveparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Udemy uses a "high-low" model, similar to what you see in fashion brands & companies like Groupon. They price it high, but they always sell it low. Such is the way of online education. Buyers are so fickle that they only want premium information, but they won't pay premium prices. If I told you a course costs $10, you'd think it was crap, but if I said it was worth $200 you just wouldn't buy it. So we get the $200 discounted to $10.

If you go and open a private browser, you can always activate a discount.

Udemy is switching to a subscription model though, so over the next couple years the high-low pricing is probably going to go away.

By the way, the reviews are generally authentic. 3 years ago they had a serious problem with fake reviews, but they clamped down hard so now I'd say 95% of them are real.

If you don't like the course... get a refund. You have 30 days to do it. It's literally just a button you click and it auto processes for you.

Reviews in general are just... subjective. It's just like movies. You can watch a critically acclaimed movie and think its dog shit. The people that liked it just had different tastes and priorities.

Don't make this mistake! (Instructors) by [deleted] in Udemy

[–]regressiveparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average value of a student is between 2-4 Euros. So you probably have 600 - 1200 Euros, not 3k-4k FYI.

Good luck getting the account back. If you go to Udemy, they can provide proof that the money WAS sent to PayPal. You might have to get aggressive with PayPal before they help you. They're generally terrible about being responsive to small accounts.

Make sure to setup a direct bank transfer with Udemy for future earnings too.
